10:29 pm. Rifda Irfanaluthfi is being wheeled out on a stretcher, but scored a 49.932, which I think might have her in top 14 Olympic contention? Maybe making history with this happening, so devastating, I hope she’s okay. They just brought her past me and she has ice on her knee.

10:26 pm. Zhou Yaqin CHN BB: Front front series was good, almost right into the jump series, clean. Full turn. Switch ring. Clean side somi to tuck jump full, little bobble there. Front aerial to split ring jump to Korbut, beautiful. Nailed the dismount. 14.500 – new second ahead of Zhang!

10:24 pm. Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos FRA FX: Full-twisting double layout, slightly soft in her form and a little hop on the landing. Front layout through to double tuck, bounce back into a step OOB. Double pike was good! 13.300

Rifda Irfanaluthfi INA UB: I didn’t see this but she had a hard fall I think on the dismount and is being helped off of the podium. 12.033

10:21 pm. Zhang Qingying CHN BB: Switch leap mount to switch half to Korbut, BEAUTIFUL layout series, switch ring to back ahndspring to straddle jump to pike jump, back dive from the side position to catch in front support, amazing! Switch leap series and a double pike, this was sheer excellence. 14.100 – second!

Halle Hilton IRL VT: Yurchenko double, really low, may have hit her knees on the mat but I couldn’t see. Probably, based on the score. 12.900

10:20 pm. Morgane Osyssek FRA FX: NAILED the double double. Strong front layout through to double tuck. IIRC her third pass was a full-in? Hit the lat pass as well and then some dance at the end. 13.433

Margret Kristinsdottir ISL VT: Yurchenko tuck full, think she meant to lay it out. 12.166

Yiseth Valenzuela COL UB: I missed this! 10.733

10:17 pm. Thelma Adalsteinsdottir ISL VT: Yurchenko full with a step to the side off the mat. 12.300

Ginna Escobar COL UB: Think I saw her catch a Gienger and Tkachev. 11.533

Qiu Qiyuan CHN BB: Hit the front series! Switch to switch half to Korbut. Had another triple mixed series that was super fluid. Side aerial. Switch ring. Believe she had a 2.5 dismount, nice. 13.700, currently 8th

10:16 pm. Emma Slevin IRL VT: Unfortunately sat the Yurchenko 1.5, didn’t quite have the rotation around. 12.100

10:13 pm. Ou Yushan CHN BB: Front handspring front tuck, wobble but fights it. Switch ring to back handspring, sissone, front aerial, split ring jump to back handspring. Tiny step on the 2.5. 14.066, currently third!

Marine Boyer FRA BB: Front full to front tuck, oof, made it look like that wasn’t supposed to happen? Then fell on like…a leap? Idk what happened, I looked at beam for one second. Got the double pike. 12.000

Dildora Aripova UZB UB: Wasn’t typing but she hit everything I saw.

10:10 pm. Moving into the final rotation!

10:07 pm. Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos FRA BB: Punch front pike mount was great. Hit the bhs loso. Switch leap to switch half, misses a foot and has a stumble. Front aerial to split jump to bhs. Side aerial with a big stumble but a good save. Nice sissone to pike jump. Double pike, really deep landing. 12.733

10:06 pm. Margret Kristinsdottir ISL FX: I missed the beginning but saw she hit the second pass. Had some good work in leaps and turns, switch half near the end. 11.833

10:05 pm. Zhang Qingying CHN UB: Caught the Jaeger, but fell off on the Church. At least they don’t need this score really. Pak was good. Had another fall on her dismount. 11.066

10:03 pm. Marine Boyer FRA BB: Had a severe wobble on the layout series, had to grab the beam. Also wobbled on something after that. The rest went pretty well, think she missed a leap connection, step back on the double pike. 13.400

10:01 pm. Thelma Adalsteinsdottir ISL FX: I love this routine so much!!! She knows how to dance and perform and everyone needs to watch it. Double tuck with a lunge back. Switch full. Had a step on the second pass. 12.500

Qiu Qiyuan CHN UB: Front pirouette series to beautiful layout Jaeger, inbar full almost goes over the wrong way but she corrects so fast, stalder pike Tkachev to Pak, clean, van Leeuwen could’ve been a teeny bit tighter. Full-in clean and stuck. 14.900

10:00 pm. Lorette Charpy FRA BB: Kinda fell onto the beam on her Korbut I think, just caught it crooked? Double pike with a hop back, I think she’ll be mostly happy with that. 12.400

Yiseth Valenzuela COL VT: Got the Yurchenko full around but the form was a little weak. 12.900

9:58 pm. Emma Slevin IRL FX: Slow and steady double wolf turn. 1.5 to front full, hop to the side. Nice tour jeté full. Double pike with a small step. 12.100

Dildora Aripova UZB VT: I missed this sadly! Looks like it didn’t go well, oh no. 11.533

Ginna Escobar COL VT: Hit her vault! Yurchenko full IIRC. 12.966

Huang Zhuofan CHN UB: Caught this from the van Leeuwen, toe half to front pirouette to piked Jaeger, full-in with a step back. 14.533 to move into third!

9:54 pm. Halle Hilton IRL FX: Got through the triple wolf turn. Front double full had a big step forward OOB. Big double pike, good landing. Step forward on the last pass. 12.266

Rifda Irfanaluthfi INA VT: Clean Yurchenko full! 13.166

Morgane Osyssek FRA BB: Hit the mount and a switch leap to split jump to back tuck, big wobble at the end of the series. Roundoff layout, layout was gorgeous, just a bobble. Side aerial. Had a wobble on something near the end but I didn’t see what. Double pike, chest down but feet basically don’t move. 13.033

Ou Yushan CHN UB: Van Leeuwen, blind change to one-arm front pirouette to piked Jaeger, Pak, Maloney to Gienger, really nice height and beautiful form there, toe-on to giants before the full-in, almost stuck! GORGEOUS. 14.100

9:52 pm. Moving to the third rotation!

9:48 pm. Thelma Adalsteinsdottir ISL BB: Hit everything at the beginning. Doing well on everything actually, just caught the side aerial to jump series. Switch leap also nice. 1.5 dismount with a hop forward.

Ginna Escobar COL FX: Switch full was a little short. Hop to the side on the double tuck. Sat the 1.5 to front full. Good double full at the end.

9:45 pm. Emma Slevin IRL BB: Had a break on the side somi. Otherwise I think she got everything, 1.5 dismount with a step back. 12.066 (4.8, 7.266)

Dildora Aripova UZB FX: Triple full, some form but solid landing. 2.5 to a kind of whippy front layout. Great double pike. This was fab! 12.600

Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos FRA UB: Chow to blind full, Nabieva, clean Pak, Maloney to stalder, bent arms before she does the half turn but gets it to the Ezhova, clean but slightly crooked van leeuwen, full-twisting double layout with a step. Great! 14.066

9:43 pm. Lorette Charpy FRA UB: Toe full to van Leeuwn, toe half to piked Jaeger, nice. Shang to Pak, very nice! Shaposh half with leg separation. Double layout looked stuck!! That was a killer set. 14.133

9:41 pm. Halle Hilton IRL BB: Hit the layout stepout mount. Hit the side aerial loso and a good jump series, stumble at the end. Wolf turn was good. Nice double full with a hop.

Zhang Qingying CHN VT: Tsuk full, I don’t remember what it looked like tbh but no fall or anything. 13.266

Rifda Irfanaluthfi INA FX: Hit a split full before her full-in to start, some form but good. Hit the second pass. Clean and solid double tuck. Switch to switch half. 12.433

Zhou Yaqin CHN VT: Yurchenko full, pikes it down a bit but lands it well. 12.933

9:40 pm. Morgane Osyssek FRA UB: Toe full, a little crooked, to Maloney to Pak, legs straddled a bit. Van Leeuwen, legs more straddled there. Blind change to straddle Jaeger, crooked on the half turn and whacks her legs on the low bar. Blind change to double front with a step. 12.033

9:37 pm. Margret Kristinsdottir ISL BB: Switch leap mount, nice. Switch leap to sissone to split jump. Off on her flight series. Hit the dismount with a hop. 10.866

Yiseth Valenzuela COL FX: Big stumble on her first pass but hit the second. 11.733

Ou Yushan CHN VT: Clean Yurchenko full! 13.100

Marine Boyer FRA UB: Maloney to Pak, leg form is a bit weak, van Leeuwen is a bit crooked, caught the Jaeger, big stumble back on the full-in dismount. 12.700

Qiu Qiyuan CHN VT: Tsuk full, lands it a little deep with a hop back. 13.133

9:35 pm. Really sad about the falls from Slevin and Aripova! Both were on my list of Olympic hopefuls.

9:32 pm. Emma Slevin IRL UB: Off on her straddle Jaeger. The rest looked hit, had a layout full dismount. 11.900

9:30 pm. Dildora Aripova UZB BB: Off on her layout stepout mount. Aww, that was very sad, I really thought she’d have a shot for Paris. Double wolf turn. Side aerial loso. Front aerial. Switch half. Hit the dismount. 11.866

9:26 pm. Ou Yushan CHN FX: Whip whip to triple full, nice, and she hit the second pass! Got the turn as well, I didn’t count rotations but on vibes it was a triple or quad? Nice in her leaps. 13.366

Halle Hilton IRL UB: Shaposh to Pak, another shaposh, I missed the entry but I assume different from the first, blind full, blind change to straddle Jaeger, hit the dismount. 12.033

Coilne Devillard FRA VT: Handspring rudi, some form in the air and a step on the landing. 14.400

Second vault is a Yurchenko full, a little deep, step back. 13.166

13.783 puts her in eighth!

Rifda Irfanaluthfi INA BB: Oh wow I missed this completely and it’s right in front of my face. Literally did not see a routine at all. 12.300

9:25 pm. Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos FRA VT: Strong Yurchenko double full! 14.366

Margret Kristinsdottir ISL UB: blind change with some leg spit into the straddle Jaeger. Blind full, minor leg form, and a high layout dismount. 11.100

9:24 pm. Morgane Osyssek FRA VT: Yurchenko full, clean and flared. 13.333

Zhou Yaqin CHN FX: VERY nice double tuck! Really clean in the air and on the landing. Triple to punch front tuck I think? Could’ve been a double full, I didn’t see the entry but it had triple vibes. Switch ring to split ring leap. Think her last pass punched into a front pike IIRC. 13.766!

Yiseth Valenzuela COL BB: Split jump to wolf jump. Off on the bhs back tuck sadly. Gets the side aerial. Switch leap. Check on the side somi. Dismounted with a front layout full, good landing. 11.066

9:23 pm. Thelma Adalsteinsdottir ISL UB: Big straddle Jaeger. Bail. Clear hip to toe shoot. Moving slow and steady, nice so far. Blind full to layout full dismount. Great job! 12.166

9:22 pm. Marine Boyer FRA VT: Big French crowd here going nuts. Yurchenko full, big hop back. 13.366

9:19 pm. Ginna Escobar COL BB: Switch to switch half. Split jump to wolf jump, nice. Bhs loso with a big stumble but she holds on tight. Dobule full with a lunge back. 10.800

Qiu Qiyuan CHN FX: Memmel turn, little short coming out of it but mostly nice. Full-in, a bit deep with a hop. Good double full. Chest a little forward on the double tuck. Switch ring to switch half. 12.833

9:18 pm. Warmups are underway! It’s finally a little cooler in the arena so I’m no longer going to pass away, if you’d like a live blog update about me.

Schäfer, graet landing! Front aerial to split jump to stag ring jump. BEAUTIFUL side aerial. 6:22 pm. Moving to rotation three!

6:19 pm. Kaia Tanskanen FIN FX: Hit the first pass. Hit the 2.5 into a punch IIRC, good there! Solid double tuck to finish.

Pauline Schäfer GER UB: Saw the toe shoot, then missed everything until the blind full, toe front half dismount looked stuck! What I saw was great and didn’t see any falls in the interior. 12.966

6:07 pm. Moving to the second rotation!

6:02 pm. Lena Bickel SUI FX: Dobule layout, some form in the air and a little hop back. Switch half, little hop back on that landing. 2.5 to front tuck was nice, hopped forward but looked really good in the air. Kind of a little stumble on the turn. Hit a leap series into the corner before her third pass, double pike to finish was a bit short. 12.500

Greta Mayer HUN UB: Toe full, Maloney with some leg form breaks to stalder to Ray to Pak, split legs on that last element, Ray back to the high bar. Toe-on to toe half, gets a little stuck but muscles through and finishes the turn, layout dismount with a small hop.

6:00 pm. Olivia Vättö FIN BB: Beautiful bhs loso series. Switch to split jump, a little short. Good side aerial but she’s too far back on the side somi and falls. 1.5 dismount with a lunge forward. 10.666

5:58 pm. Anny Wu SUI FX: Double pike is clean but a bit slow, bounce on the landing. Tour jeté half. 1.5 to front full, hop forward. Chest a bit down on the double tuck.

5:57 pm. Ada Hautala FIN BB: Big break at the hips on the bhs loso. Good fight. Hit the 1.5 dismount.

Karina Schönmaier GER VT: Hit the Yurchenko full, solid enough. 13.133

5:49 pm. Adeliina Siikala FIN BB: Punch front mount was strong. Side aerial is also really nice. Back tuck. Switch leap to split jump. Bhs loso, bent knees and a wobble, but holds on. Hit the dismount. 11.300

5:34 pm. Aurélie Tran CAN BB: Little wobble on the mount but gets the front aerial to split jump to straddle jump. Lovely flexibility movement down to change levels for choreo, quick and controlled full turn, solid side aerial, big wobble on the bhs loso but she saves it from anything more severe, side split jump half, lovely switch to switch half, layout full dismount with a little hop.

5:29 pm. Ellie Black CAN BB: Switch leap mouth to switch half to Korbut, nice. Double spin, step forward to control it. Had a little stumble on a jump after. Punch front, solid. Strong bhs layout. Gets the side somi without any real drama. 2.5 dismount with a hop to the side off the mat, looks annoyed at that but happy to be through it. 13.566

5:27 pm. Olivia Kelly BAR UB: Hop change to Endo half to Maloney to stalder to big Church to bail, short there, toe shoot, half-in double tuck, good for her!

5:23 pm. Athanasia Mesiri GRE FX: 2.5, great, tiny step. Think she had a front double full in her second pass? Clean double tuck. 12.100

Rose Woo CAN BB: Hit the back pike series with a wobble, wobble on the switch ring as well. Side aerial, little adjustment. Hit the jump series and side somi well. Side split jump half I think? Big wobble on something when I looked away but showed good fight. Double full with a hop. 12.200

Ilona Krupa UKR UB: Wasn’t typing for this, had a couple of rushed elements, but overall a hit routine. 11.433

5:21 pm. Anna Lashchevska UKR UB: I hate that I keep missing the start of bars, saw her Maloney, Pak, and toe shoot, inbar half to straddle Jaeger, some minor form throughout, toe full, to full-in with a step forward. 13.133

Charlize Mörz AUT VT: I think she did a handspring front half? Judges taking a minute so maybe debating layout or pike? I couldn’t tell from here. But she goes only 12.700

5:19 pm. Lynnzee Brown HAI FX: Big double layout, hop back, may have gone OOB? Getting tons of applause here. 1.5 to barani, think she meant that to be a full, hops around the other half turn. Double L turn. Had a little kick ball change in her choreo, we stan! Clean double tuck. 12.000

Selina Kickinger AUT VT: Yurchenko full, a little close to the table but lands it well. 13.166

5:18 pm. Anya Pilgrim BAR UB: Hit everything at the beginning, clean Pak, high double tuck, small step back. 10.700

Leni Bohle AUT VT: Solid Yurchenko full! 13.100

5:16 pm. Cassie Lee CAN BB: Off on her layout stepout mount. Side aerial loso, looks a bit off from the start and has a HARD fall on her hip on the beam before dropping to the mat. Good side somi and wolf to straddle jump. 1.5 dismount with a step. 9.700

Barbora Mokosova SVK FX: Hit the first pass. And the second. I saw both landings but not what she did. Hit routine! 12.266

Bianca Frysak AUT VT: I missed this. 12.700

5:14 pm. Moving into the final rotation!

5:09 pm. Charlize Mörz AUT FX: Deep landing on the full-twisting double layout. Strong double layout, bounce back. Front layout through to double tuck, a little buckled with a hop back. Her team’s going wild. She has a lot of super difficult dance, not all getting credit, but this routine is SO hard and she has so much potential! 12.766

Aurélie Tran CAN UB: Wasn’t typing but this was hit, saw a huge Jaeger, double layout with a little bounce. 13.133

5:07 pm. Lynnzee Brown HAI BB: Checks throughout the bhs loso. Hit everything else I saw, gainer tuck full dismount, she looks pretty happy about it! 11.166

5:06 pm. Ellie Black CAN UB: Maloney to Hindorff, Shang to mixed grip to Ezhova (isn’t this the Black? I already forgot), van Leeuwen, blind full, and a layout toe front half, this was great! 14.133 – currently seventh!

Leni Bohle AUT FX: High clean double pike, great landing. hit the second pass and then a double tuck. 12.400

Rose Woo CAN UB: Think I saw a Tkachev to Pak at the start, Maloney to clear hip, pause in handstand before the blind change, looks like she went weird in her direction, turned around again for the double front dismount, which she sits. 12.166

Anna Lashchevska UKR VT: I missed this.

5:02 pm. Anya Pilgrim BAR VT: Another solid Yurchenko full! Little bounce on the landing. 13.100

5:00 pm. Ava Stewart CAN UB: I missed the beginning of this but she had a hit routine until the dismount, the piked double front which she has to kind of run out of and almost drops a knee.

Olivia Kelly BAR VT: I saw the landing was good! 13.200

4:58 pm. Athanasia Mesiri GRE BB: Hit the mount. Gets the fornt handspring front tuck. Side aerial. Hit a few other things after that which I saw, cat leap to split leap/jump series, nice. Switch leap. 1.5 with a step.

Bianca Frysak AUT FX: A little low coming out of the punch tuck in the first pass. Double tuck, small step back. 12.100

4:56 pm. Moving into the next rotation!

4:51 pm. Anna Lashchevska UKR FX: Full-in to start, step back, heel either on the line or OOB. Double pike with a hop back. Hit another pass that I saw but didn’t mark down and then came up a little short on the double tuck, step forward.

4:50 pm. Selina Kickinger AUT BB: Wasn’t typing for the first half of this but she hit everything I saw, big break at the hips on the side aerial, doesn’t connect to the Korbut. Had a nice turn in there. Big step back on the double full. 11.566

4:49 pm. Anya Pilgrim BAR FX: I was talking with someone and missed her first pass, but saw that she hit. Switch to tour jeté half. Split jump full, looked iffy to me but think it was the angle we have. 11.400

4:48 pm. Ellie Black CAN VT: Handspring front layout full, went really far distance wise, but she kinda had to take a big leap out of it. 13.966

Hit the tsuk 1.5 for her second vault, deep landing but stands it up well. 13.566

Averages a 13.766, currently seventh.

4:47 pm. Barbora Mokosova SVK UB: Toe full to Maloney to Pak to van Leeuwen, stalder to stalder half is a bit late, but gets it to the Jaeger, ugh, went over the wrong way on a pirouette and had to pause on the bar. Just a layout dismount. 11.933

4:46 pm. Ava Stewart CAN VT: Yurchenko 1.5, gets it around well, could tighten it up a little more, but just a small step forward on the landing. 13.466

4:44 pm. Athanasia Mesiri GRE UB: Clear hip to Tkachev, nice Pak, unfortunately her hands slip after she swings down and she drops off the bar, NOOOO. Toe shoot to the high bar, blind change to front giant half, blind full, and just a layout dismount, step back. 10.066

4:42 pm. Leni Bohle AUT BB: Check on the layout stepout mount. Gets the double wolf turn around. Super solid bhs loso. Switch to switch half, only makes it about 100 degrees or so on the latter. Front aerial. Side aerial. Good on both. 11.166

Cassie Lee CAN VT: Some bent elbows on the table but gets the Yurchenko full around well. 13.100

4:39 pm. Carina Kröll AUT BB: Jump to split mount. Double wolf turn. Strong bhs loso. Switch to split leap. Illusion turn with a little struggle to get it fully around but good fight. Break at the hips and then off on the side somi sadly. Hit the dismount. 11.400

4:32 pm. Cassie Lee CAN FX: Double tuck, tiny hop. 1.5 to front full. Double pike with a scoot back. 12.666

Anya Pilgrim BAR BB: Hit the flight series and full turn really well. Gets the punch front. Side aerial pretty good, just pulls her chest up a little late I think. Leap series, could have been more polished but no wobbles or anything. Does a nice college gainer full off the side and looks pleased with herself! 11.300

4:29 pm. Ellie Black CAN FX: 2.5 through to double back IIRC was the first pass, ended up going a bit too far and jumping OOB. Hit the second pass. Step on the front double full. 13.400

Aurélie Tran CAN FX: I saw the front full, which was nice. Think I missed a pass before that. Strong double pike with a hop forward.

Ilona Krupa UKR BB: Off on the side aerial. Had a few other significant wobbles.

Athanasia Mesiri GRE VT: Solid Yurchenko full. 13.133

Handspring front full for the second vault, tucked her legs throughout.

2:07 pm. Maria Tronrud NOR FX: Tried to get this but ended up missing all of it sadly! 11.766, she finishes with a 48.264 total.

Rebeca Andrade BRA UB: I didn’t start typing fast enough but she connected all of the transitions, huge piked Jaeger, toe full went a little crooked but she corrected into the full-in, step back, what I saw was good but not great, lots of adjustments. 13.866

2:06 pm. Emma Yap SGP BB: Hit the back pike series. I think she got everything else, double tuck with a step back, I had to check some results for a sec so missed a bit of this but think it was a hit! 12.133

2:05 pm. Flavia Saraiva BRA UB: I caught this from the Pak, toe-on to Maloney to Gienger, slight leg separation, blind change with a little adjustment before the front giant to double front, step. What I saw was good! 13.600

2:03 pm. Mari Kanter NOR FX: She hit the first pass, and then a 1.5 to front full, step forward. Double full at the end was a good finish. 11.166

Ruby Pass AUS VT: Crashes the Yurchenko double full… 11.9

1:58 pm. Lucija Hribar SLO BB: Bhs mount goes a little crooked but she corrects well. Solid side aerial bhs. Switch ring, could be a little cleaner but overall not bad, little stumble on the full turn. Front aerial is good. Strong in the jump series. Switch leap. Hit the dismount. She had a great day!

Sandra Elsadek EGY FX: Clean double pike to start. Hit the second pass into a front pike, love. Solid double tuck, hop back. 11.566

Lorrane Oliveira BRA UB: Gets the Maloney to Pak, but is too close on the Pak and has to kind of clear hip her way out of it, though can’t get to handstand and she falls. Back on, toe-on to van Leeuwen, piked Jaeger, blind change to front giant to double front half, leg form is wild, step on the landing. Good recovery after the fall. 12.033

Georgia Godwin AUS FX: Front layout to double front, cowboyed, pushes forward out of it and stumbles OOB. Double layout comes up a little short and she has to take a big bounce on the landing. Kind of rough for her but don’t think the score will be devastating or anything. 12.766

Nadine Joy Nathan SGP UB: I missed this! 11.466

1:47 pm. Rebeca Andrade BRA VT: Cheng, brilliant in the air, landing is a bit deep forcing her to take a big step back. 14.900!

Sandra Elsadek EGY UB: I missed the beginning, saw her catch the Tkachev between the bars, blind full lost some leg form, double tuck was clean with a step back. 10.733

1:27 pm. Jana Abdelsalam EGY UB: Toe-on to toe half, legs come apart and she can’t make it to handstand. Caught the Jaeger after getting back on, everything else went well until the dismount, sat the double front. 8.233

Julia Soares BRA FX: Beautiful arabian double front. Love this choreo/routine so much. Good full-in. Double tuck with a bounce. Small bounce back on the double pike at the end. She’s fantastic. 13.200

Georgia Godwin AUS BB: Switch leap mount right into the front aerial to straddle jump, not the tightest form but she covers it up well. Bhs loso, also some slight form throughout but lands it well enough. Double pike with a bounce back. 13.166

Lucija Hribar SLO VT: Very nice on her Yurchenko full! 13.233

1:26 pm. Zala Trtnik SLO VT: Yurchenko full, really solid, step back on the landing. 13.000

1:23 pm. Kate McDonald AUS BB: Hit the mount and had a strong side aerial. Bhs loso is strong. Front aerial to straddle jump, massive wobble and she comes off. Hit the 2.5 dismount with a big step off the side of the mat. 12.066

Jade Barbosa BRA FX: Full-in, hop back. Beautiful piked full-in, lands it well. Last pass had a big bounce OOB. 12.833

Maria Tronrud NOR UB: Wasn’t typing during this but she hit! 11.766

Nadine Joy Nathan SGP VT: I missed this! 12.966

1:17 pm. Rebeca Andrade BRA BB: Switch leap mount, switch to switch half to split jump, slow in the connection between the first two. Bhs loso, deep landing. Got the front aerial series well. Switch ring with an adjustment. Side aerial, break at the hips. Full turn, adjustment. Very clean on the jump series. Stuck the double pike! 13.800

1:16 pm. Lucija Hribar SLO FX: Clean double full to start. Has a couple of really nice leaps. Double pike at the end had a little scoot back. I missed one pass. 11.966

1:15 pm. Kate McDonald AUS UB: Caught this from the Maloney, huge Tkachev to Pak, clean van Leeuwen, toe full to full-in, chest down and a hop, mostly great work. 13.900

1:13 pm. Flavia Saraiva BRA BB: Big break on the mount but thankfully corrected! Next few skills were fine, hit the bhs loso with a slide back. Switch ring to bhs was great. Front aerial got sketchy into the split ring jump. Side somi, big stumble. Good through the jump series. Strong double pike dismount. 13.400

1:11 pm. Zala Trtnik SLO FX: Aww, she has a Hamilton routine! Hit the first pass. And the second. 2.5 at the end with some crossed legs. 11.733

Ruby Pass AUS UB: Weiler half to Maloney, beautiful lift, to Hindorff, very nice, Pak got a little stuck and had to muscle through, van Leeuwen, toe full to half-in double tuck, some good fight in that. 13.833

Sandra Elsadek EGY VT: Solid Yurchenko full! 12.900

1:09 pm. Jade Barbosa BRA BB: Wobbled through the mount but saved it. Wobbled on the layout series as well. Switch side. Full L turn was okay. Had another wobble on something after that. Switch to straddle to back tuck I think, got everything but a wobble at the end. Strong double pike to finish. Nervy routine but made it through! 12.400

Nadine Joy Nathan SGP FX: I saw her hit the first pass. I missed the rest though. 11.000

Jana Abdelsalam EGY VT: Yurchenko full, some form throughout, but hit. 12.400

1:08 pm. Maria Tronrud NOR VT: Yurchenko full, a little short and deep on the landing. 12.466 – I think they downgraded her from a layout

Georgia Godwin AUS UB: Weiler full, piked Jaeger, Pak to Maloney to Pak to toe-on to va Leeuwen, got a little stuck there but nothing serious. Double layout with split legs and a hop. 13.666

1:04 pm. Emma Yap SGP FX: Hop back on the double pike. Strong front tuck through to 1.5. Double tuck at the end was strong.11.833

Julia Soares BRA BB: Candle mount with a half turn, great. Smoothly through the wolf turn. Step back on the bhs loso. Lovely jump series. Double pike, fantastic! 13.200

Emily Whitehead AUS UB: Toe full, leg form break and bend at the hips halfway through but she corrects into the Maloney to Pak, leg separation, van Leeuwen with more leg form, blind change to Khorkina, blind change to double front, deep with a hop. 12.800

Mari Kanter NOR VT: Yurchenko layout IIRC, looked fine. 12.333

1:03 pm. Touch is underway!

I loved the mixed groups doing choreo together for the entrances the way the teams do. Slovenia and Singapore were just adorable.

Alva Eriksson SWE UB: Sorry I missed basically EVERY Swedish bars set. 12.033

12:39 pm. Mafalda Costa POR BB: Wasn’t typing but she had a sheep jump! The first one I feel like I’ve seen in a million years. Had a few areas where she wasn’t at 100% but I think she hit everything.

12:36 am. Kaylia Nemour ALG BB: Hit the mount and the triple flight series brilliantly. Switch leap to split jump to Korbut, lovely. Switch half was short. Side aerial. Step on the 2.5. She looks pretty pleased. What a day! 13.266

Alexa Moreno MEX FX: Big double double to start, yes! Double layout with a hop back, but so powerful. Arabian double front, great landing! Hit the last pass as well, fantastic routine.

Tonya Paulsson SWE UB: I missed this. 12.866

12:33 pm. Natalia Escalera MEX FX: Double layout, step back OOB. Front through to double tuck, a little short with a hop. Tour jeté full. Strong double pike. 12.3333

Lahna Salem ALG BB: Saw that she hit her flight series. Also had a strong aerial. Hit the dismount.

12:29 pm. Cassandra Loustalot MEX FX: Good arabian double front to start. Hit the tucked full-in well. Clean double tuck. 12.866

Filipa Martins POR BB: Hit the beginning, then a switch to switch half. The rest looked nice, really solid double full, she looks very happy. 12.633, AA is 51.965!

Jennifer Williams SWE UB: Wasn’t typing but saw she got everything, height on the Jaeger was huge, really cowboyed double front and she sits it sadly. 12.000

Franchesca Santi CHI VT: Didn’t see what she did, looked over just as she’d crashed onto the mat. Maybe the Yurchenko double full I guess? 12.400

12:26 pm. Touch for the final rotation!

12:22 pm. Paulina Camps MEX BB: Off on her flight series. Back on for the front aerial, switch leap to sissone, little adjustment, side somi, hit a side split jump, also got the dismount. 11.133

12:20 pm. Kaylia Nemour ALG UB: Inbar layout Tkachev to Pak, amazing, Maloney to stalder full to perfect handstand to Ricna to mixed grip to Ezhova to van Leeuwen, the arena is going nuts, inbar full to double layout, OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 14.733 (6.8 D) – I’m far away and have no business fighting E scores on bars but I want to fight this one lol

12:18 pm. Natalia Escalera MEX BB: Had a fall early on. Hit the bhs loso. Switch half was a bit short. Back tuck, leg up wobble. Good double pike, hop back. 10.966

Lahna Salem ALG UB: Wasn’t paying close attention, saw a few leg form things throughout but think she got through everything?

12:16 pm. Tonya Paulsson SWE VT: Beautiful flared Yurchenko full. I remember gushing about her basics when she was like 12-13 and doing pretty much zero difficulty, it’s amazing that she’s brought all of her foundational skills into more elite difficulty, she’s so good. 13.400!

12:14 pm. Filipa Martins POR UB: I caught it from the Pak, van Leeuwen was nice. Caught a release after that and hit the double layout dismount with a small hop back. I think I must have missed her eponymous skill at the beginning assuming she did it? But don’t think she had any falls. 13.333

Cassandra Loustalot MEX BB: Some little adjustments throughout, a few areas that could be improved but as a whole this was really strong, double pike was great. 12.300

Jennifer Williams SWE VT: Really strong Yurchenko full! 13.166

12:13 pm. Emelie Westlund SWE VT: Yurchenko full, pretty nice in the air, got some decent distance and had a good landing.

12:10 pm. Makarena Pinto CHI FX: Hop back on the double pike, a little short. Double tuck at the end was pretty cowboyed but she got through it.

Alexa Moreno MEX BB: Solid punch front tuck. Pretty steady on the bhs loso. Switch half slow to the back tuck. Wolf jump to straddle jump, solid. Clean switch side. EXCELLENT double pike, this routine was fantastic! 12.166

Elina Grawin SWE VT: Didn’t see what she did but had a hop back. 12.300

Mafalda Costa POR UB: Off on her Maloney. Hit the rest after remounting. 9.666

12:07 pm. Rotating to the third!

12:05 pm. Natalia Escalera MEX UB: I missed a bit of this, started before I was looking over, but from where I caught up (piked Jaeger) everything was hit and looked pretty good! 12.866

12:04 pm. Emelie Westlund SWE FX: Clean double tuck to start. Maya Ståhl on the side doing her choreo with her, love! Double pike, clean in the air, chest down on the landing. 12.333

12:03 pm. Lahna Salem ALG VT: Handspring front tuck, step forward on the landing.

12:00 pm. Jennifer Williams SWE FX: Double full, big hop back. Layout full was also nice. Hit the last pass IIRC.

Paulina Campos MEX UB: Piked Jaeger, and then a Shang I think?! Wow. Pak to Maloney to clear hip I think, I’m probably forgetting things, double tuck was clean with a hop. 11.633

Filipa Martins POR VT: Yurchenko full, strong and solid, hop on the landing. 13.166

11:57 am. Mafalda Costa POR VT: Yurchenko layout, landed it well, just some form in the air. 11.800

Tonya Paulsson SWE FX: Double pike, nice and high, opens up beautifully into the landing! Wow. Relatively simple skills done brilliantly make me so happy. Hit the next pass, front tuck through to layout full IIRC. Double tuck had a big bounce OOB. 12.600

Ahtziri Sandoval MEX UB: Shaposh to Pak, nice. Maloney to bail to toe shoot, really good. Had a release that she caught (but I didn’t) and hit the full-in a little low with a step. 13.366

11:54 am. Elina Grawin SWE FX: High double pike, good landing. Stumbled through a Y turn, Memmel attempt I think. Switch ring to switch half. Front layout for the next pass. Hit the double full. 12.300

Makarena Pinto CHI BB: Big punch front, nice. Switch to jump series, not bad. Bhs back tuck series. Switch side. Moving well so far! Hit the dismount. 10.933

Alexa Moreno MEX UB: Wasn’t typing but saw her hit the piked Deltchev, bail, and double layout really well, small hop on the dismount. 12.466

Kaylia Nemour ALG VT: Clean Yurchenko full. 13.000

11:52 am. Moving to the next rotation!

11:48 am. Elina Grawin SWE BB: Hit the mount and then a bhs bhs loos, a little tentative and wobbles on the landing but gets it around. Switch leap was lovely, to split jump, pause before the Korbut. Good side aerial. Y turn with a little stumble. Beautiful front aerial, has a slight check after. Split ring jump. Her lines are everything. Clean double full.

11:46 am. Filipa Martins POR FX: Nice clean double tuck, small hop. Hit the second pass into a floaty stag jump. 2.5 with a little skid on the landing. Lovely routine! 12.833

Ahtziri Sandoval MEX VT: Tsuk double full, some noticeable form in the air but decent on the landing, a hop but nothing severe. 13.933

11:44 am. Alexa Moreno MEX VT: Second vault is a tsuk double full, not as tight in the air and she has a big hop back/to the side on the landing. Should still be a pretty solid average score. 13.733

Averages a 14.149

11:42 am. Alexa Moreno MEX VT: EXCELLENT handspring rudi! Literally the most minor form things, landing was fantastic. 14.566

Tonya Paulsson SWE BB: Solid flight series. Nice front aerial to split jump. Didn’t connect the switch to switch half, and then also tried to connect a back tuck out of the latter but was slow and had a fall, sadly. Sissone to wolf jump connection was also very slow. Dobule tuck, chest forward, otherwise good landing. 10.933

Mafalda Costa POR FX: Full-in, good landing. Front tuck through to double full, hop back. Big stumble on the double tuck. 11.933

11:38 am. Kaylia Nemour ALG FX: 1.5 through to triple full, some ankle form but good! Hit the second pass, good landing. Clean and strong double tuck, step back. Great routine. 12.700

Jennifer Williams SWE BB: Bhs loso, really nice and floaty but a little off when she lands it and she falls. Triple wolf turn was nice. Huge air on the double tuck dismount! Step back. 12.100

Natalia Escalera MEX VT: Yurchenko 1.5 with a step forward. 13.500

Franchesca Santi CHI UB: I didn’t see most of this but think she hit. 11.100

11:37 am. Cassandra Loustalot MEX VT: Casual stick on the handspring front pike half, OKAY! 13.066

11:35 am. Lahna Salem ALG FX: Dobule pike, step back OOB. Landed her second pass on her knees. Hit the 1.5 to front tuck. 9.833

Emelie Westlund SWE BB: Switch to split jump to back handspring, super quick connections. Went for a layout series but fell. Clean 1.5 dismount. 11.700

Makarena Pinto CHI UB: Caught the Jaeger, but came off after that. Just a layout dismount, hop. 9.366

11:32 am. Touch starting now for subdivision five!

11:14 am. Celeste Mordenti LUX FX: Hit the first pass and then a super strong double back for the second. Great routine, she had a pretty great day! 12.466

11:12 am. Sabrina Voinea ROU BB: Roundoff layout full, got it! Just a check. Side aerial, slight check. Nailed the bhs layout. Front aerial. I’m so nervous for her. Tour jeté, solid. Switch leap slow to the switch half and a little short. Wolf jump to split jump. Nailed the double tuck, she is THRILLED!! 13.666

11:11 am. Fien Enghels BEL UB: Wasn’t typing but this was a strong routine, caught a couple Tkachev releases, got all of her connections IIRC, and her double front is SO clean, hop forward, great set, just minor form throughout here and there. 13.033

11:08 am. Amalia Ghigoarta ROU BB: Really strong on the mount. Step back out of the side aerial. Bhs loso was super solid. Switch to switch half. Off on I think it was an aerial, I glanced away just as she was coming off. Wolf turn was good, double tuck with a solid landing. 12.433

11:07 am. Maellyse Brassart BEL UB: Think she started with a Maloney to Tkachev, toe full to Pak, slight form here and there, van Leeuwen with leg separation, crashed the double front hard, that was a bummer. 12.266

Laia Font ESP VT: Went for a Yurchenko double full but just didn’t have the power to get it around, crashed it to the mat. 12.766

11:05 am. Ana Barbosu ROU BB: Came up really low on the front front series, and had a few other bobbles and wobbles that will make this a not GREAT score, but she’s showing good fight. Side aerial good. Had a good split full IIRC, 2.5 dismount with a hop. 12.866

11:04 am. Aida Bauyrzhanova KAZ FX: Good 1.5 to front full. Double pike, legs split fully apart In the air which slowed her WAY down and she crashed HARD, bummer. 10.100

Erika Pinxten BEL UB: Stalder to Maloney to clean Pak, but catches it at her hips and has to circle around the bar before hopping off. Hit the rest after remounting. 11.833

Alba Petisco ESP VT: Yurchenko 1.5, hit well! 13.633

11:03 am. Laura Casabuena ESP VT: Solid Yurchenko full, step forward. 13.066

11:00 am. Andreea Preda ROU BB: Hit the back handspring mount and the double wolf turn, got a little sketchy on the latter but no big issue. Also hit the flight series. Gainer full dismount, good work! 11.966

Kaja Skalska POL FX: Hit both of the passes I saw at the start of the routine. Front layout. 11.600

Margaux Dandois BEL UB: Toe-on to Chow to Pak, some leg separation on the latter. Big Tkachev, double pike, great work! 12.866

Sara Pinilla ESP VT: Yurchenko full, deep landing with a big step forward. 12.800

10:59 am. Moving into the final rotation!

10:54 am. Alba Petisco ESP FX: Strong full-in! Arabian double front gets around well, just has a stumble. Crowd is loving her music/performance. Double tuck. Did she whip into it? May have, it looked like it to me but I glanced over too late.

10:52 am. Amalia Ghigoarta ROU UB: Huge Church! Stalder half to Ezhova. Maloney to stalder, form on that connection was odd, to Pak, van Leeuwen, mostly good, stalder full, a little late, double tuck, clean with a step. 12.600

10:50 am. Laura Casabuena ESP FX: Piked full-in, some leg separation, bounce back. Front layout through to double tuck, really solid. Double pike was strong. 13.066

Aida Bauyrzhanova KAZ BB: Off on her loso mount. Gets the wolf turn around. Solid bhs loso. Hit the rest, including the dismount.

10:49 am. Ana Barbosu ROU UB: Shaposh to hop to mixed grip to Ezhova, Maloney to clear hip full, a little rushed but corrects well, piked Tkachev to Pak, van Leeuwen, full-in, deep with a lunge forward out of it. 13.366

10:48 am. Margaux Dandois BEL VT: Yurchenko back, no twist, big bounce back on the landing. 11.800

10:46 am. Kaja Skalska POL BB: A little short/low on the leap mount, hit the side somi. Side aerial loso, tucked throughout the latter but got it around. Cartwheel to tuck half dismount. 10.900

Lilia Cosman ROU UB: Clear hip to toe full, late, to Maloney to Pak, nice. Van Leeuwen. Strong straddle Jaeger. Full-in with a hop to the side. 13.033

Laia Font ESP FX: 2.5 to front tuck, good landing. Solid double pike. Good double full. Strong double tuck to finish, hop back. 12.266

Maellyse Brassart BEL VT: Powerful Yurchenko full! Landed well. 13.133

10:45 am. Erika Pinxten BEL VT: Yurchenko full, bent elbows on the table, not a ton of power, but gets it around! 12.966

10:43 am. Ana Perez ESP FX: Good full-in to start. Had a big bounce back on the second pass. Front full done well. Hit the last pass. 12.333

Celeste Mordenti LUX BB: Hit the aerial and a nice leap to jump series at the start. Small hop back on the double full, she looks thrilled! 12.000

Andreea Preda ROU UB: I missed the beginning but think this was a full hit, saw her catch the Jaeger and land the double layout, some form on both. 12.733

Jutta Verkest BEL VT: Yurchenko full, not a ton of power and a bit soft throughout but gets it around. 13.033

10:41 am. Well, that was dramatic. Some people are saying she did touch the board, others are saying she didn’t. I personally didn’t see it because of my angle (I can only see the back 1/4 of the springboard where they punch, not where they enter) but I don’t know. Either way it’s very sad.

10:36 am. Margaux Dandois BEL FX: Double tuck with a small step back. Hit the second pass, double pike at the end was a bit deep.

Laura Casabuena ESP BB: Nailed the triple flight series. Off on the front aerial, ugh. And again on the side aerial. Double pike with a step.

10:35 am. Kaja Skalska POL UB: I missed this during the Romania drama. 10.866

Ana Perez ESP BB: I also missed this sadly! 12.966

Fien Enghels BEL UB: …and this but saw that she hit every pass I did catch. 12.600

10:33 am. Sabrina Voinea ROU VT: I don’t know what happened, steps off? She was jogging kinda slow, then slowed further to a walk, past the table. Got off the podium, someone ran to her, got back on the podium, saluted, and then left again.

I couldn’t see it but she may have touched the board when she ran past the table.

10:29 am. Erika Pinxten BEL FX: Lovely Memmel turn. Massive bounce back on the double pike, OOB. Hit the second pass. And the last pass, think it was a 2.5 maybe? I only saw the landing which was good.

Celeste Mordenti LUX UB: Caught the Tkachev I think it was. Pak was clean. Toe-on, bent her knees, Maloney to bail to toe shoot, cuaght a bit close, double layout, some split in her legs.

Alba Petisco ESP BB: Off on her mount, sadly. Super strong punch front tuck. Hit the rest, some bobbles and adjustments throughout. Good side aerial. Double tuck with a hop. 11.566

Lilia Cosman ROU VT: Another really strong Yurchenko 1.5! 13.633

10:28 am. Ana Barbosu ROU VT: Yurchenko 1.5, great! Small hop on the landing. 13.500

10:25 am. Laia Font ESP BB: Hit the mount. Switch leap to wolf jump, really nice shape o that. Back tuck. Had a check on something and then a big break on the side somi IIRC, but stayed on for both! Strong double full dismount. 11.866

Jutta Verkest BEL FX: Had a bounce on her first pass. Good double pike. Hit the front full with minor form. 12.500

Aida Bauyrzhanova KAZ UB: A little rough in the bail. Clear hip to hecht to the high bar. Also saw her catch a release and hit the layout dismount. 10.500

Andreea Preda ROU VT: Kind of whippy Yurchenko full but decent landing. 12.966

10:23 am. Touch for rotation two!

10:20 am. Jutta Verkest BEL BB: Break on the layout stepout mount, corrects, but she’s off on the side aerial. This is really sad. Bhs loso, another big wobble. Switch to split ring leap, back knee could be higher. Strong side somi. Switch ring. Hit the dismount. 11.766

10:19 am. Really long wait for Dandois’ score.

10:15 am. Sabrina Voinea ROU FX: Strong Popa at the start. Full-twisting double layout, minor form but a GREAT landing. Double double, a bit deep there but not a big issue. Triple spin. Switch leap through to switch half. Full-in, excellent landing! Front tuck through to double tuck, she had NO room but landed it with her heels like RIGHt on the edge of the line, WOW, this was incredible. 13.666

10:14 am. Laia Font ESP UB: I saw the Pak, Maloney to bail, toe shoot, some form throughout but she’s doing well to hit. Blind change to piked Jaeger, nice height there. Step on the double pike but another solid routine for Spain. 12.566

10:11 am. Ana Perez ESP UB: Piked Jaeger, a little low from my angle, Ray to Pak, nice, clear hip to Maloney to Gienger, lovely double layout with a step back. 12.933

Ana Barbosu ROU FX: Arabian through to triple full to punch front, directionally off but gets it around! Lovely 2.5 to front pike. Hit the last pass without issue. Fantastic! 13.200

Margaux Dandois BEL BB: Split the beam on the bhs loso. Switch to split ring jump. Front aerial with a check before the split jump to Korbut. The rest was really strong, double pike dismount, that’s kind of huge for Belgium. 12.066

10:08 am. Fien Enghels BEL BB: Candle mount. Gets the wolf turn around. Off on an aerial sadly. And then again on the bhs loso. Heartbroken for her. 10.533

Laura Casabuena ESP UB: I caught this from the Pak, van Leeuwen with minor leg separation, piked Jaeger, hit routine! 12.900

Lilia Cosman ROU FX: Small hop on the tucked full-in. Strong 1.5 to front full. Also hit the third pass. 12.733

Celeste Mordenti LUX VT: Yurchenko full, timing of the twist was a little odd but it was a good vault overall. 12.833

10:07 am. Aida Bauyrzhanova KAZ VT: Yurchenko full, lines got a little soft in the air and she has a step to the side OOB. 12.533

10:04 am. Erika Pinxten BEL BB: Nice layout stepout mount and solid bhs loso. Lovely front aerial to split jump to bhs, she has really nice lines. Good wolf turn. Switch to sissone. 1.5 with a hop. Beautiful routine! 12.700

Kaja Skalska POL VT: I didn’t see what she did but saw she had a nice landing. 12.166

Andreea Preda ROU FX: Double pike, good landing. Some leg form in the front full. Double tuck at th end was a little low. 12.300

Alba Petisco ESP UB: Wasn’t typing but this was a hit routine! 12.666

10:02 am. Touch warmups underway.

10:01 am. Belgium had a kind of late switch here with Yléa Tollet out and Margaux Dandois coming in. Really interested to see how this team will do…

  2. Kaylia was amazing but from the stream she was definitely short on most handstands, had some leg separation going on, and I wonder if the slightly whippy double layout was deducted quite heavily.

    • I just saw a video from the side view, I’m unfortunately facing the bars head-on from across the arena so I have no business talking about deductions there lol, but yeah, from the side it was definitely clear where the deductions came in! And agree on the DLO.

  3. I’m so anxious about Germany. Currently 10th and France, Japan, and China still coming… OMG… It’s sooo close if they miss qualification for the OG… Aaaaaaaaah

  4. Confused by Oius bar score of 14.900. In the middle of her routine she does a full pirou, back down to a kip cast handstand, is that not a deduction, felt weird and out of place?

    • As far as I know, that’s not a deduction. She came out of the pirouette way too late to connect to the downie, so she had to do a kip cast to start up again. As long as it’s done cleanly, it shouldn’t have too big of an impact on the score. It’s very uncommon for high level gymnasts to have to do this, but it happens.

      • China got put in their place yet again, they are an event specialist team! Wow they did good on bars and beam wow! What a shocker, still not as advanced as they once were on those events like they used to be. They are neck and neck with the rest of the world. Second as an event specialist team, Im so glad they got kicked off the podium yet again, but this time without any real mistakes or big giant issues. Elite teams with 1980 vaults, and B level tumbling dont deserve to be on the podium if everyone else does their job. Period. So Glad Brazil and France said not today 1980 vaulting team. They can take their tube jackets and wait for bars and beam finals. Peasants!

  5. I don’t t get the qualifying system 🙈Pauline Schäfer earned a nominative spot and Germany one additional non nominative ,right ?
Can Helen earn another nominative AA at Euros?

        • Haha I can imagine! Thank you so much for all your hard work during these long qualification days! Simply watching all the sub divisions was crazy already.

Ok, Pauline and Sarah are safe… let’s say Helen Kevric will be the best all around gymnast next year. Could Eli Seitz or someone else go the World Cup route? Or no more than those 3 spots for Germany??

        • But is it Voss who gets the floor spot? Looking down the bars results I can’t see anyone above Meolie Jauch who’s eligible (who am I missing??), which would mean she gets that spot, and Germany’s allocation of individuals is full before they get to floor?

        • Bars would be Zoja Szekely…she wins the tie-break over her teammate Csenge Bacskay on vault, so bars would go to Zoja, vault would go to Ahtziri Sandoval, beam to Ana Perez, and floor to Sarah Voss!

        • Ah, got it, thanks so much! I should have looked up how that worked if there was more than one apparatus qualifier for a country but only one spot left; the only two options I thought of were “highest rank” and the (fairly stupid) “chronological” order of vault – bars – beam – floor.

        • I thought it was highest rank as well! But then found later that the tie-break came down to the ranking ratio? So if there are 20 athletes on vault and an athlete ranks 10th, and there are 100 athletes on bars and an athlete ranks 20th, the latter would win the tie-break because the 20:100 ratio is higher than the 10:20 ratio. You know, just making something already super confusing EVEN MORE confusing!

        • Wow. I guess that makes sense in a way :-D. But I work in science and find that confusing, there have to be some reeeeeeally perplexed people out there.

        • Hahaha yes, at first when I read the ratio info I was like what do they even mean by ratio in this context?! But then thought about it for a second and it made sense, because vault always has FAR fewer competitors so vault would always win the tie-break in those circumstances. Makes sense, but also yeah, it’s A LOT, especially for casual fans who don’t get all of these nuances.

    • I know, I’m so happy they are sending a full team since 2012! It’s also worthy to note that had Voinea vaulted her DTY, that would’ve been enough to qualify them to Team Finals! They were only 7 tenths from Japan the last qualifier. I really hope they keep building this momentum for Paris.
