    • I imagine they did a tiebreak somehow. Maybe by FIG rules, maybe by some other means? Seems a bit mean for a national champs for juniors!

      • Yes, they drop the lowest score, which gives Finc a 37.950 and Holmes a 37.800. I personally think this rule is dumb even at the highest level FIG competitions, because dropping the lowest score means you’re allowing the athlete with a weaker overall day to win the tie-break, but at a national meet for juniors? Simply wild.

    • The Alia Leat comeback is my absolute favorite story of the season so far! She was one of my faves as a junior and truly thought we’d never see her again, but she looks fab and in such a short period of time! Also love a lot of the juniors and aspires, such an exciting up-and-coming group.

    • I know, I never really thought about it until it was the determiner between Aly and Aliya getting bronze in 2012 and was like…wait a minute. Aly beat Aliya on three out of four events, but Aliya gets to drop her weak beam and win the medal?! Similar situ here where Lexi beat Helena on vault, bars, and floor and had the overall stronger performance but lost the gold. JUST LET THEM TIE!
