11:39 am. Kacper Garnczarek POL HB: Zou Li Min, big layout Tkachev, gets the Kolman with some leg form, Tak full with minor form and a tiny bit late, Tak half slightly short but clean overall, stalder to inbar, full-twisting double layout with a hop back. Good set!

I hope this gets onto the podium after an otherwise iffy final. Oh, but I liked Gino Vetter’s routine too and he’s currently third, I’d be happy with either of these two being on! But think this one was more difficult? We’ll see. 12.833 (4.8, 8.033) – yes, that just edges Vetter off by a third of a tenth!

11:36 am. Agust Davidsson ISL HB: Tak half had some leg separation, Kolman had some form and a fall, Kovacs was better but close on the catch, double-twisting double layout dismount was good. 11.400 (4.3, 7.100)

11:32 am. Gino Vetter AUT HB: Endo, Tak full was a little late but not bad, Tak half, stalder Tkachev, stalder, gets the double-twisting double layout with a big hop back. 12.600 (4.3, 8.300)

11:30 am. Arthur Mariano BRA HB: Good Tak half, layout Tkachev to straddle Tkachev to Gienger, fab! Tak full was a little weak but he connects to the piked Jaeger, hop full, solid full-twisting double layout dismount! Small hop. 14.133 (5.3, 8.733, +0.1 B)

11:27 am. Quentin Brandenburger LUX HB: Tak full was CRAZY, legs flew apart and he finished under the bar, Tak half was much better, Kolman with weak leg form and a low catch, piked Tkachev, straddle Tkachev, double-twisting double layout dismount, deep with a lunge forward. 11.566 (4.4, 7.166)

11:24 am. They’re already doing the touch for the second half, do we only have seven athletes today? Oh you know what, probably, because Caio Souza was the leading finalist but he unfortunately got injured on rings yesterday.

11:19 am. Leo Lehtinen FIN HB: Tak half with some leg form, tries to connect to the Def but misses, fall. Clean Kovacs and straddle Tkachev, falls out of the Tak handstand onto the high bar and comes off laughing. Back on again for the Tak, gets it this time, turns around for giants to the triple back dismount, to his knees sadly! 9.966 (4.5, 5.466)

11:11 am. Diyas Toishybek KAZ HB: Tak, Tak full, Tak half, slightly short in a couple of those, Cassina form was wild and the rotation looked a bit off as well, fall. Kolman form also a bit wild but he catches this one, German giants to stalder, double-twisting double layout, deep but stuck. 12.200 (5.1, 7.000, +0.1 B)

10:50 am. Kyano Schepers BEL PB: Front pike to handstand, maybe slightly muscly? Half turn out had a sway over. Underswing full with minor adjustments, underswing a little muscled to handstand, arched ALL the way over on the single rail during the Makuts and he can’t save that, fall. Back on for a Healy, Diamidov which arches over and then his legs go wild and he falls again. Remounts again for the dismount, a double front with a hop forward. 8.966 (4.0, 4.966)

10:46 am. Dulcy Caylor USA FX: Memmel turn. Double layout, a bit short and her landing ends up deep, but not severe or scary. Whip full through to clean double tuck into a punch front, takes a big hop forward out of it. Really has to push to get the wolf turn around. Double L turn. Mostly clean double pike, just slightly short. Tour jeté half to switch half. 13.466 (5.8, 7.666)

Wow, that pushes her just a third of a tenth ahead of Flavia Saraiva for the gold! Her D score is half a point higher.

10:45 am. Lucas Bitencourt BRA PB: A little messy in the first pirouette, Makuts also had some form but minor I’d say. Healy looked nice, double front with a big step back. 13.000 (4.9, 8.100)

10:41 am. Flavia Saraiva BRA FX: Stuck the double layout cold!! Gorg. Switch full. Step back on the double tuck. Split leap to switch ring leap half. 1.5 to front full, steps out of it. Great landing on the double pike. This was fab. 13.433 (5.3, 8.133)

10:39 am. Yordan Aleksandrov BUL PB: Front pike to handstand, Healy out, rushes through the underswing turns after, a little short in a full pirouette as well, double front was a little messy but stuck. 13.633 (5.0, 8.533, +0.1 B)

10:36 am. Lorrane Oliveira BRA FX: Whip to piked arabian double front, great! Big step forward OOB but looked really strong and nice in the air. Tucked full-in isn’t as tidy and she has a big bounce back OOB. Split ring leap to tour jeté half, minor form. Double pike, nice! Small hop. Not super accurate in the switch…side half maybe? I couldn’t tell what she was going for tbh. Double tuck with a hop back. 12.933 (5.5, 7.633, -0.2 ND) – into first!

10:34 am. Emil Akhmejanov KAZ PB: Had some pike in his hips during the Makuts, then muscled up an underswing to handstand pretty significantly, great straddle front, Diamidov looked good, double front half was a bit short with a hop. 12.800 (4.9, 7.900)

10:31 am. Anastasiia Lev UKR FX: Arabian double front, a bit cowboyed, small hop forward. 2.5 to front layout, some crossed legs in her twists. Hit the leap series well. Double tuck with a bounce back. Double wolf turn. 12.166 (5.0, 7.166)

10:27 am. Quentin Brandenburger LUX PB: Has a little iffy moment in the first handstand with an arch and hand movements, but gets the full turn after well, front pike to handstand, straddle front had good air, underswing half with minor form, double front with a small hop. 13.366 (4.7, 8.666)

10:24 am. Tatum Drusch USA FX: Double layout, great landing, tiny hop. Popa was clean. 1.5 to front full, some form looked a bit awkward in the air, hop forward. Hit the leap series. 2.5 to front tuck, some form in the twisting. Solid enough! 12.733 (5.3, 7.733, -0.3 ND)

10:22 am. Oleg Verniaiev UKR PB: Front pike to handstand, underswing half had some hand adjustments, underswing to the single rail and the pirouette out went well, had a significant arch over on the single rail handstand in the Makuts, double front half with a hop back, lots of little things throughout but ultimately a hit for him! 13.433 (5.5, 7.933)

10:19 am. Shanna-Kae Grant GBR FX: Popa was great. Front layout to front layout full, some knee form and a hop. Triple wolf turn. Arabian double front, pushes it forward on the landing and takes a big step to the side. Switch to tour jeté full, nice! Switch half into the corner before the double tuck, small hop.

10:16 am. Mark Nagy HUN PB: Pike sit with a clean press to handstand. Underswing to straddle sit to a clean handstand press. Back piked through to pike sit with another press to handstand. Double front dismount, stuck! Good work. 12.766 (3.7, 8.966, +0.1 B)

10:14 am. Antea Sikic Kaucic CRO FX: Memmel was a bit rushed, runs out of it into the switch half. Front layout through to double pike, really has to muscle that around but gets it albeit a bit low. Double full with minor knee form/crossed legs and a small hop. Triple wolf turn, squeaks around the last half. Clean double tuck with a great landing! Switch ring to switch full, tiny hop. Great work! 12.600 (5.2, 7.400)

10:11 am. Stasis Butrimas UKR PB: Sorry, I had to miss basically all of this but what I saw in the replay looked good! Tiny hop back on the dismount. Okay, well I missed a lot based on the score I guess lol. 11.900 (4.3, 7.600)

10:08 am. Greta Mayer HUN FX: Double layout, great! Just landed with her heels OOB. Full-in also strong but landed with her feet completely OOB. Split jump full. Tour jeté half to switch half, form could maybe be a little stronger or more precise. Front tuck through to double tuck, excellent there! Double pike is slightly short but solid. Landings were all on point today, too bad the first two were OOB though, that’s gonna KILL her score. 12.066 (5.1, 7.566, -0.6 ND)

9:50 am. Cheung Ching HKG VT: Handspring double front, oh he came like ONE INCH from sitting that, damn! Big lunge back to stand up out of the squat, OOB. 13.066 (4.8, 8.366, -0.1 ND)

Kas full, not bad! Tries to flare it out on the landing and only has a small hop back there. Mostly clean in the air! 13.466 (4.4, 9.066)

9:47 am. Tatum Drusch USA BB: Loso mount, slight check. Bhs loso, little wobble. Front aerial, tiny wobble, to split jump to straddle jump. Side aerial. Clean switch to switch half which was not as clean but solid. Side somi, tiny adjustment. Every fault so far has been super minor. Gets the double wolf turn around. Cross split jump full, short in the split and she ends up too far back on the landing, fall. Double pike dismount, chest forward and a step back. 11.833 (5.6, 6.233)

9:44 am. Ondrej Kalny CZE VT: Kas 1.5, some noticeable knee bend in the air but super solid on the landing, just a tiny step back. 13.966

Follows it with a Shewfelt, same combo as Danek and Trifonov! He starts out with really tight form, softens up a bit near the landing, big lunge forward. 13.833

13.899 average – moves into second a tenth ahead of his teammate!

9:42 am. Greta Mayer HUN BB: Strong front punch mount. Switch slow to switch half, ends up a bit short and falls. Good side somi. Roundoff layout, some form and a hop on the landing. Clean triple wolf turn. Side aerial, split jump to wolf jump. Strong double tuck, tiny hop back. 12.300 (5.5, 6.800)

9:39 am. Jonas Danek CZE VT: Kas 1.5, has some ankle form in the air especially in the latter half of the flight, but overall this was really strong and the landing is good! Feet apart and a small hop forward. 13.866 (4.8, 9.066)

Next up is a Shewfelt, clean at first in the flight but then loses some of the knee and ankle form, lands it really well though! Same vault pairing as current leader Daniel Trifonov, though I think Trifonov was stronger on both. 13.733 (4.8, 9.033, -0.1 ND)

13.799 average – moves into second!

9:37 am. Emily Roper GBR BB: Loso mount. Double wolf turn. Hits the bhs loso really well. Cross straight jump full. Front aerial, doesn’t connect to split jump to straddle jump, some foot form in the straddle but nice splits. Switch leap to switch half. Just a layout full dismount but it looked nice aside from some pike down in the hips, hop back. 12.866 (4.9, 7.966) – moves into third behind the Brazilians!

9:34 am. Martin Miggitsch AUT VT: Handspring double front, rotation is a little off, lands really low and squatty but saves it from sitting down by taking a big leap forward. 13.033 (4.8, 8.233)

Kas full for the second vault, also maybe a bit low off the table but he gets it around well enough and just takes a big step back on the landing. 13.000 (4.4, 8.600)

9:32 am. Flavia Saraiva BRA BB: Bhs mount, pause before the split jump to Korbut. Switch half is super clean. Bhs loso, minor form. Switch ring, tiny hop. Front aerial a little slow to the split ring jump but that was gorg. Side somi, wobble. Big leg separation into the double pike, slightly short, but lands it! 13.766 (5.9, 7.866)

9:27 am. Aurel Benovic CRO VT: Strong Dragulescu! Hop on the landing but looked good overall. 14.300 (5.2, 9.100)

Second is a handspring randi, which is just a bit low off the table, tries to compensate with some tucked knees but he has a hard crash and limps away but I think he’s okay overall. 12.833 (5.2, 7.733, -0.1 ND)

9:24 am. Rebeca Andrade BRA BB: Switch leap mount. Switch to swith half to split jump, first connection had a tiny pause. Massive wobble on the bhs loso, does about 75 arm swings but ultimately stays on. Front aerial slow to split ring, good to bhs. Switch ring, side aerial, little adjustments on both. Full turn. Double pike, slightly short, step back. 13.600 (6.1, 7.500)

9:21 am. Assan Salimov KAZ VT: Dragulescu, rotation in the twist is slightly off and he ends up really short on the landing as well, crashes onto his knees. 12.800 (5.2, 7.700, -0.1 ND)

Next is a handspring randi, slightly forward on the landing but ALMOST sticks it, tiny bounce. Looked mostly fine in the air! 14.566 (5.2, 9.366)

9:18 am. Dulcy Caylor USA BB: Switch leap mount with a slight wobble. Bhs loso loso, minor form but solid overall. Split ring jump. Side aerial. Switch leap to switch half, a little slow in the connections. Front aerial, wobble. Doesn’t connect to split jump to Korbut. Double wolf turn. Wolf jump to sissone. Double pike, chest really far down. Nice hit set overall! 12.633 (5.6, 7.133, -0.1 ND)

9:16 am. Daniel Trifonov BUL VT: Kas 1.5, looked really nice in the air, maybe a slight knee bend at one point, and the landing is solid! Small step. 14.100 (4.8, 9.300)

Follows it up with a Shewfelt! Also really nice, step to the side that looked OOB. Lovely work for him today overall though! 13.933

9:13 am. Marianna Kiniuk UKR BB: Switch leap mount to switch leap with a little pause to the wolf jump. Side aerial loso, she was super crooked from the start and doesn’t have a prayer at landing this on the beam, fall. Front aerial to split ring jump was lovely. Switch ring. Double wolf turn. Some form in the side somi. Slow rotation in the double tuck, form is quite weak, but she gets it around a bit short with a hop. 11.733 (5.6, 6.133)

9:10 am. Satyajit Mondal IND VT: Handspring double front, rotation isn’t quite there, tries to push it around but ends up sitting it. 12.600 (4.8, 7.800)

Kas full for the second vault, chest is pretty low and he has a big slide into a step back on the landing. In the air it was a little messy, some knee bend, some leg separation. 12.933

9:07 am. Maria Drobniak POL BB: Switch leap mount, pretty much connects right into an aerial, has a big wobble / break at the hips. Hit the jump series after recovering from the wobble. Bhs loso loso with a wobble and sadly a fall. Switch half. Standing back tuck. Back walkover down into a split before the low choreo, loved that. Dismounts with a double tuck but misses her feet and kinda slips into it, the rotation is SO short, super hard crash onto her back, and oh god, I think she’s injured. Salutes from the ground. A coach helps her limp off. Well, that’s a devastating start to the day. 10.066

9:01 am. Good morning! The stream is just starting. Athletes should be introduced shortly and we’ll get underway probably by around 9:05 am or a couple of minutes later.

I’m watching the stream on World Gymnastics TV, which is around $5 for the whole weekend. You can also work on the Hungarian federation’s website with a VPN if you’re located outside of Hungary. No real live scores, though Elevien had them up pretty quickly after reach rotation yesterday. I’ll pull them from the stream after each routine.
