The Gymternet is coming at you LIVE at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma from the NCAA Championships rematch between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Florida Gators!
We’ll be live blogging every routine as they happen. Refresh your browser to see what’s going on. The most recent updates will appear at the top.
8:39 pm. Oklahoma wins with a huge 198.5 to Florida’s huge 198.1. Excellence from both programs.
8:30 pm. OU broke their home attendance by 1000…something like 4000 people here. It was very heavily marketed from what I saw on Twitter, and it looks like lots of frat boys came out to support it which is…awesome.
8:29 pm. Scaman gets the 10! During Grace McLaughlin’s beam exhibition…JUST PRETEND THEY’RE CHEERING FOR YOU!
8:26 pm. HUUUUUGE floaty double layout from Scaman to start. The second layout looked almost higher than the first. Rudi to layout stepout is seamless. Excellent double pike, jumped into a very controlled lunge. Crowd is chanting 10 for that, and after Brenna got a 9.95 somehow (the judges must have missed that “leap,” lol) she just might get it.
8:25 pm. Sloan’s first beam of the season! Front aerial is a little tentative before the bhs, but she hits it and will most likely get credit. Jumps are fine. Side aerial, and believe she finished with either a punch 1.5 or roundoff double full, I couldn’t quite see the end of the beam. Great to see her back there!
8:23 pm. Jackson has a huge piked full-in which is more laid-out than most in the first rotation. I think the second was a front full front full, but I couldn’t see because she was doing the first flip behind the score from my view, haha. Could’ve been a roundoff bhs 1.5 to front full. The world will never know. Nails the double pike.
8:22 pm. Hunter has a solid bhs loso to start on beam, cat leap + switch side, huge stuck double back. Didn’t look as cowboyed to me as it usually does on screen.
8:20 pm. Dowell nails her double front but can’t get the punch out of it for her jump so she just kind of hops up into a 10 degree leap, haha. Ugh. 1.5 to front full is fine. Front lay front full. Good routine aside from that little mishap at the beginning.
8:18 pm. Front tuck is solid for McMurtry. Bhs loso with a tiny check. Switch to Shushunova hip circle thingy which I call “around the world” for some reason. 2.5 is excellent, tiny step.
8:17 pm. Lovan opens with a punch Rudi to stag jump to front tuck, excellent. I also love her music. It’s the same as Rheagan Courville’s, right? Front full front lay, easy for her. Big double pike, nailed.
8:15 pm. Baker opens beam with a front aerial + bhs. I didn’t watch Florida last week so I don’t know if she took out her wolf turn then or today but it’s gone either way. Split jump to straddle half, big double back with what looked like a little bounce but I can’t really see feet so don’t quote me on it.
8:14 pm. Capps is a bit short on her double layout to open. I love her music SO MUCH. Nails the double full to loso. Front lay front full is also a tiny bit short but she holds onto it.
8:12 pm. I love how Spicer slams her hands down after she hits her bhs loso. Cat leap + loso is nice. Hits gainer full. Great routine!
8:11 pm. Brewer opens with a nice double tuck, followed by a front lay to front full. This is her last regular season routine in this building…they’re hosting Big 12s and regionals so it won’t be her last routine EVER in this building. Finishes with a solid double pike.
8:09 pm. Fassbender hits her front aerial to bhs with a small check. Everything else looks fine!
8:01 pm. Natalie Brown is exhibitioning on beam. She’s such a long and lovely gymnast, I’d love to see her in lineups here and on floor when she gets more experience. She warmed up floor earlier and I love her music. Hits her routine. OU now leads 148.775 to 148.575 after a pair of 9.925s from Hunter and Caquatto. Frat boys are doing a pull-up challenge on bars now. #Fantastic
7:59 pm. BREWER GETS A 10 AND A STANDING OVATION!!!!! Looks like she’s crying and everyone’s hugging her. Love it. No way in hell Caquatto can hear her music. Opened nicely, 1.5 + split jump middle pass. Double pike to finish is good. OU casually goes 49.75 on beam. Another standing ovation.
7:58 pm. Brewer nails the bhs + loso + loso and the hitch kick to stuck gainer full. YET ANOTHER chant for a 10. So far they’re counting two 9.925s and two 9.95s in addition to Lovan’s 9.9.
7:56 pm. Sky high double layout to open Hunter’s floor. I glanced away for a split second and it happened to be her middle pass but it wasn’t her usual crazy involved pass? Wish I saw it. I only saw the landing, probably a Rudi or something? Double full? Finishes with super open double tuck, no problems there.
7:54 pm. Capps doing her beam to “Take Me To Church” is actually a religious experience. That press handstand…*drools*. Bhs + loso + beat jump is smooth. AMEN. Front aerial, switch + ring jump, roundoff + stuck gainer full. Come on, this has to be a 10. The crowd’s chanting it for the 900th time. Just give ’em one.
7:52 pm. Okay, Baker’s arabian double pike is LITERALLY a layout. I can’t get over it. Maybe like the tiniest pike in her hips, but dayum. Double pike is also pretty open, but she skids a little on that landing. Last pass, she does a straddle jump out of it and kind of loses herself in the air…looks like she got a little more height than she wanted and doesn’t know where to land, but it doesn’t phase her too much.
7:50 pm. Clark has a smooth front aerial to Korbut. Tiiiiiny check on the full turn. She’s using “Soul Sister” by Train as her music. Nails the side somi. Sticks the 1.5! Again. DAMN.
7:49 pm. Wang is up on floor. Double layout is a tiny bit short but landed nicely considering. Front lay + layout half + straddle jump. Nice double tuck though it looks like a small bobble on the landing.
7:47 pm. Lovan begins her beam with a switch to straddle 1/4, nails the bhs + loso, front aerial + split jump gets crazy applause. This team eats beam for breakfast. Full turn, standing back loso to full, DAMN. More 10 shouting, but I think I saw one little tiny check after a jump. I’m sure the judges saw something.
7:45 pm. Spicer opens her floor with a piked full-in, which looks like her foot is brushing with OOB to me but I didn’t see a flag go up so it’s probably my angle. Front full to front pike with a little hop on the landing. Finishes with a solid double pike. Sorensen goes 9.95 on beam. UGH, keep this momentum going, Sooners!
7:43 pm. Sorensen opens her beam with lovely choreo, and she hits her jump with no problem. Cat leap + front aerial + bhs is GORGEOUS. More beautiful low beam choreo, Full turn to the leg hold gets huge applause and then she nails her gainer full. Absolutely astonishing routine. Crowd is chanting 10! It was really that good.
7:42 pm. Claire Boyce opens floor with a front double full. 1.5 to front pike is good. Finishes with a front layout Rudi. Nice job. Kmieciak went 9.925 by the way!
7:40 pm. Kmieciak gets the Sooners started on beam. Her bhs + loso is super solid. Beat + straddle half, full turn, sticks roundoff double back. Excellent!!!
7:35 pm. OU goes 49.5 on bars with a 9.95 from Dowell, and Florida goes 49.55 on vault. I believe they’re ahead by like 0.075…yep, it’s 99.1 to 99.025. Insane.
7:31 pm. Scaman has a lovely piked Jaeger, bail, and a stuck full-in. Excellent! Hunter goes 9.95, definitely would have been a 10 at home. McMurtry’s FTY is huge, but she hops over a tiny bit, like, a tiny pop to the left. Dowell’s up on bars, and her piked Jaeger is HUGE. Nails the full-twisting double layout. Excellent work.
7:28 pm. Baker vaults a big FTY, a little off-center and with a bounce back. Wofford’s lines…I CAN’T GET ENOUGH. She hits every handstand with perfect precision. Jaeger and bail are both lovely, and she steps on her full-in. BUT THOSE LINES. Hunter nails her Yurchenko 1.5. Absolutely sticks it. Everyone on the Florida crew is yelling for a 10.
7:27 pm. Wang does another FTY with another bounce in place. Brewer is going up on bars…big Tkatchev, lovely handstand before the toe on to bail, which are both great…and she has a big double layout with a step forward.
7:25 pm. Spicer vaults a clean FTY but she also has a bounce in place. Kmieciak on bars has a great Ray, a solid bail to toe shoot, and then NAILS her full-in. WOW. That was one of the better NCAA sticks I’ve seen!
7:24 pm. Caquatto does an FTY with a bounce in place. Clark does a Maloney to bail, both great, a toe on, toe full to double tuck STUCK, with her chest down and it looks like she might take a step but she fights like crazy and holds on.
7:23 pm. Touch is over! Vault will be Caquatto, Rachel Spicer, Kiersten Wang, Baker, Hunter, and McMurtry. Bars will be Rebecca Clark, Kmieciak, Erica Brewer, McKenzie Wofford, Scaman, and Dowell. No exhibitions for either. Sloan is anchoring beam, by the way!
7:21 pm. It’s the touch warmup right now…everything’s going swimmingly. Alumni are being recognized…Lara Albright, Lauren Alexander, Kayla DALTON!!! (who you might know as Nowak), Madison Mooring, Taylor Spears (who gets insane applause), Hayden Ward…there are a lot and I missed some names!
7:16 pm. Here is Ali’s vault. I’m trying to upload others but Instagram is going pretty slowly…if I can’t do it while it’s happening, I’ll definitely put everything I can up after the meet! Probably won’t film beam or floor, because I’m kinda far and you wouldn’t see much. Florida leads 49.55 to Oklahoma’s 49.525. This is gonna be insane. Bridget has the highest score so far with a 9.975.
7:14 pm. Sloan has a big Ray, a toe on to bail to toe shoot, and a stuck double layout. Excellent! And then Scaman does a HUGE stuck FTY, so big I feel like she’s going to land on me (I’m not that far away). The crowd chants 10 and it’s worth it. McMurtry finishes up for Florida with a giant full to bail to toe shoot, and then does her signature huge full-in, but with a step back.
7:12 pm. Caquatto catches her Ray, has a lovely handstand before her toe on to bail, and sticks her double layout. Jackson does a big Yurchenko 1.5 with a step forward.
7:10 pm. Hunter has a huge Hindorff, bail to toe shoot caught a tiny dead and then the last handstand is a tad bit short. Sticks the full-out though. Here’s the video of Brenna’s vault. Capps does a big clean FTY with the tiniest rebound back.
7:08 pm. Fassbender has a nice toe on, Tkatchev, over arches a handstand, bail, and does an arabian double front with a hop forward. Dowell nails her Yurchenko 1.5! Looked like a tiny step at the end.
7:07 pm. Bianca D-G for the Gators…toe on, Maloney, bail, all in a row. Big floaty double layout with a step back. Kmieciak on vault is super clean on her FTY and sticks it! Beautiful.
7:05 pm. Here we goooo! Touch warmup is ending. Lovan is up first for the Sooners on vault. She sticks her FTY, a tiny bit off to the right but otherwise a beautiful vault.
7:00 pm. Touch warmups are beginning! The real contest tonight is who has the sparkliest leos. Will get pictures when they get close enough but I think OU wins.
6:56 pm. Just got lineup info. Kara Lovan, Keeley Kmieciak, Brenna Dowell, Chayse Capps, Ali Jackson, and Haley Scaman will start on vault (with an exhibition from Stefani Catour) and for Florida, Bianca Dancose-Giambattisto, Ericha Fassbender, Kytra Hunter, Bridgey Caquatto, Bridget Sloan, and Alex McMurtry will do bars (with an exhibition from Kennedy Baker).
6:52 pm. Bridget Sloan got the most applause for the Gators. There was a big pause before Bianca Dancose-Giambattisto’s name because honestly, who can say it? No one.
6:48 pm. Taylor Spears is here to tell everyone some facts about the Sooners. They’ve been number one for EIGHT WEEKS STRAIGHT. They’re honoring seniors Erica Brewer, Haley Sorensen, and Rebecca Clark at the end of tonight’s competition. And TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT OF THE CHAMPIONS. Behind the scenes magic, but the Sooners just came out of the tunnel quietly and discretely to go behind a big wall that they’re all gonna explode out of! Taylor Spears is a really good crowd motivator person, btw, getting the stomp stomp clap going for “We Will Rock You.”
6:43 pm. I’ve only just learned the Sooner mascot is a horse. I didn’t even know they had a mascot?! But I guess horse makes sense. A kiddy gym group is coming out now and this is the 900th time I’ve heard Taylor Swift since arriving and I’m okay with it.
6:40 pm. So the biggest thing you need to know is that Bridge Sloan trained beam. She looked good, and when she wasn’t training she didn’t stop dancing for even one tiny second. If I could have just 8% of Bridget’s energy I could rule the world.
6:32 pm. The gymnasts just cleared the floor, so things should get started shortly. It’s senior night and I spot several OU alum as well as some young recruits.

I think Fox Sports is airing it at some point but someone said it’s not live. There’s no stream as far as I know.
