Sunday January 15

5:38 pm. Looks like now the feed is down AND the stats sooooo bye forever!!! It was fun while it lasted.

5:35 pm. Well, no feed anymore, hopefully it comes back. Since it died, it looks like Kocian vaulted and got a 9.875, which is good for a full!

5:33 pm. Ugh, my feed died.

5:32 pm. Lehrmann, OU, UB- Big straddle Jaeger, toe-on to bail, full-in stuck with her feet like one slightly in front of the other but overall that was a beautiful routine.

5:31 pm. Hall, UCLA, VT- Big flared FTY with a hop back.

5:30 pm. Catour, OU, UB- Ray, toe-on to bail, good handstands, double layout with a slight bounce as she lands.

5:29 pm. Kramer, UCLA, VT- FTY with a step back, also not bad. Just okay.

5:28 pm. Capps, OU, UB- Giant full to Tkachev, bail, full-in with her chest down and a step forward.

5:26 pm. Meraz, UCLA, VT- FTY, nice landing, looked mostly nice in the air.

5:19 pm. Oklahoma leads 49.425 to UCLA’s 49.35 after the first rotation. Both Kyla and Peng got 9.925s on bars, while both Chayse and Maggie got 9.925s on vault.

5:18 pm. Kocian, UCLA, UB- Chow to pak, tucks her legs on her pak and catches way too far over the bar and has to hop off. Messy van Leeuwen, extra swing, stalder to full-in stuck. Well damn.

5:17 pm. Nichols, OU, VT- Yurchenko 1.5, stuck cold with her feet slightly apart. Form throughout is super straight, the only one who doesn’t have leg sep on the entry.

5:16 pm. Lee, UCLA, UB- Great handstand, Ray is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! GORGEOUS freaking Bhardwaj. Toe-on to perfect van Leeuwen, great last handstand, stuck double layout god DAMN I’d give it a 10.

5:15 pm. Jackson, OU, VT- Another beautiful Yurchenko 1.5, also with a hop forward.

5:14 pm. Ross, UCLA, UB- Maloney to bail to toe shoot, all very clean. Handstand looked right on top of the bar, double layout STUCK. DAMN that was gorgeous.

5:13 pm. Dowell, OU, VT- Beautiful Yurchenko 1.5, small hop forward and some slight leg sep on the pre-flight.

5:12 pm. Savvidou, UCLA, UB- Piked Jaeger with weird feet and almost no distance, BEAUTIFUL last handstand before giant full to double tuck with a hop forward.

5:11 pm. Capps, OU, VT- FTY, huge and clean and stuck. Flared. Legs separate just before the landing so her feet are apart but otherwise it’s great.

5:10 pm. Meraz, UCLA, UB- Ray caught far away, double layout with a hop.

Saturday January 14

5:58 pm. Bridgeport wins with 194.475 followed by UNH with 193.975 and Brown with 192.475!

5:52 pm. Morant, Brown, FX- Big awesome double pike. 1.5 to front layout. Rudi with knees bending on the landing but again a solid set from her today.

Looks like Minnesota won their quad, and Ohio State beat Michigan by less than a tenth!

5:50 pm. Williams, Brown, FX- Big double pike. She’s super into her choreo which is fun. 1.5 to front tuck. Good wolf jump full…lots of the wolf jump legs have been too low today but hers was solid. Double tuck landed in a bit of a squat but she pulls it up.

5:45 pm. 5th UNH, BB- Solid bhs loso, switch to straddle 1/4, switch to front toss, cartwheel to gainer full. No idea who this was…looked like Pflieger to me.

Olson, Brown, FX- Front double full with a step over. Great front full to front tuck. Last pass is good but she did it into a straddle jump that only hit about 90 degrees. Still a good routine.

Lauter, UNH, BB- Excellent jump series, hits her bhs loso but it’s low and to the side, and she ends up having to hop off. So problems for UNH on every event which is surprising, especially because she’s def their best here. Gainer full dismount.

5:43 pm. Campbell, Bridgeport, VT- “Stop, THEN move. Take your time.” I love hearing all of the different instructions for each gymnast before they go.F TY, good landing, but some form issues in the air.

Christman, Brown, FX- Double pike stumbled back and OOB. Saved what could’ve easily been a fall though. 1.5 to finish.

4th UNH, BB- Hit jump series, front aerial to bhs, 1.5 a little messy in the air but a good landing.

Stewart, Bridgeport, VT- Cleanest FTY of the bunch from my angle. Hop to the side.

5:42 pm. Whittaker, Bridgeport, VT- Hit her vault.

Freehling, UNH, BB- Cat leap to front toss, cat leap to switch leap to back tuck, good. 1.5 dismount. Good routine.

5:40 pm. Drapkin, Bridgeport, VT- Solid FTY.

Green, Brown, FX- Good double pike to open. Front lay to punch front. Double tuck is low, crashed onto her head which was a bummer…their first fall all meet.

5:39 pm. Zine, Bridgeport, VT- “Heels up, snap down” from the coach. Good tsuk tuck full.

Breeden, UNH, BB- I think this is Lia. Switch to straddle 3/4, full turn. Hit series. Hit routine!

5:36 pm. Tralli, Bridgeport, VT- All of Bridgeport not competing waits at the end of the runway to cheer which looks like they’re like “come over here friend” and it’s cute. FTY, good.

Bondanz, UNH, BB- Last-minute sub for Mulligan. Front aerial to bhs, full turn, almost falls on something, saves it but it’ll be a big deduction. Nice cartwheel to gainer full.

Hagenbuch, Brown, FX- Hit first pass. Front full to front layout second pass is good. Rudi to finish is a little short but she stands it up. Good start.

5:29 pm. Looks like Paige Zaziski had a meltdown on floor based on her score…Michigan still behind Ohio State but not by much. At the other quad, Minnesota leads with 145.825 followed by Arizona with 145.550, Maryland with 144.200, and Alaska with 140.750.

Bridgeport leads UNH going into the final rotation.

“I don’t think we’ve EVER hit eight beam routines in a row.” – Brown’s head coach Sarah Carver-Milne after all six in the lineup and the two exhibitions were hit. LOVE.

5:24 pm. And Comport wraps up Bridgeport’s floor with a 9.925!!! Awesome rotation for them, and I’m pretty sure they’re gonna beat UNH.

5:21 pm. Wow, 9.9 for Randi Cutolo on floor!

Final UNH bars has a big straddle Jaeger to overshoot, giant full to double tuck. I think they saved themselves from counting a fall.

Morant, Brown, BB- Cat leap to side aerial with a slight bobble. Nailed the 1.5 dismount. Awesome beam rotation for Brown!!!

Comport, Bridgeport, FX- BEAAAUTIFUL Rudi loso. Good front layout front full. Finishes with Rudi. She is a gorgeous performer here and on beam.

5:18 pm. I give up on UNH bars. I have no idea who’s who from here and their lineup is messy.

Butchness, Brown, BB- Everything’s good so far. Nice bhs layout! Piked layout but still cool to not see a loso. Split to split 1/4, wobble but saves it. Good side aerial to layout full.

Cutolo, Bridgeport, FX- Hit first two passes. Rudi to finish. Great routine.

5:16 pm. Reimers, Bridgeport, FX- Good tucked full-in. Coach behind me yelled “STUCK” and peed his pants. 1.5 to front layout. Part of her choreo is done facing her caoch and she smiles right at her which is cute. Hit last pass.

Green, Brown, BB- Slight check on bhs loso. Tsuk dismount!! Super weird and awesome.

5:15 pm. Doolin, UNH, UB- I think this is Doolin. Messes up her giant full and has to hop off. UNH has been the only team here today with real struggles, a fall on every event so far which is weird. Gienger (leg sep), bail slightly short, hit dismount.

5:12 pm. Ryan, Brown, BB- Bhs loso with slightly bent knees and a check. Tour jeté half! A little short but nice to see. 1.5 dismount.

Stewart, Bridgeport, FX- Great double pike. Double tuck is a little cowboyed but she hits.

5:10 pm. Jung, Brown, BB- Hit flight series, cat leap to big switch side. Punch front tuck is solid. Split to straddle, split is slightly short. Hit her dismount, a 1.5.

Quinn, Bridgeport, FX- Double pike, good. Has the Laurie Hernandez music but the choreo doesn’t fit at all. Double tuck, chest slightly down.

Watkins, UNH, UB- Tkachev, straddle back, great double layout.

5:09 pm. UNH, UB- Giant full to bail to toe shoot. Clean handstand before giant full to double tuck, very nice, small hop forward. The start list says Doolin but that’s definitely not her.

5:07 pm. Lauter, UNH, UB- Good routine, giant full is mostly clean to a double tuck with two big stumbles/steps back.

Christman, Brown, BB- Off her line on series but holds onto it. Side aerial with a wobble. 1.5 dismount, good.

Campbell, Bridgeport, FX- Front tuck through to double tuck, nailed it! Front full front tuck. Hit her last pass well.

5:05 pm. At the Ohio State quad it’s Ohio State 98.200, Michigan 97.500, Washington 97.200, and Kent State 96.200. Looks like Michigan had struggles on beam from Paige Zaziskiand Lexi Funk. Polina Shchennikova hit bars, though! 9.825.

5:00 pm. Moving from rotation to rotation now!

Update on the Maryland quad…Arizona leads 96.975 with Minnesota 96.825, Maryland 96.700, and Alaska 94.075. Minnesota had some great beam routines.

At my meet it’s UNH 96.850, Bridgeport 96.825, and Brown 95.825. The face of a Bridgeport coach when she heard the UNH and Bridgeport scores was just like :-OOOOOOOOOOOOOO hahahahaha I’m dying.

4:57 pm. No falls on bars or beam this rotation! That’s…kind of amazing? Just that botched giant full stuff on bars in one routine but yeah, no falls.

4:53 pm. Morant, Brown, UB- Layout Gienger is lovely. Nice toe shoot, giant full to double tuck with a step.

Comport, Bridgeport, BB- Looooove her low beam choreo!! Front aerial to bhs into a scale YAS. Switch to split jump. Front aerial. Split jump to split 1/4, cat leap to something off the end of the beam that I couldn’t see…looked like a gainer half? That would be weird? Probably a Rudi. Either way it was good.

4:51 pm. Olson, Brown, UB- Nice Jaeger to overshoot, giant full to double tuck, a little low.

Chiles, Bridgeport, BB- Hit bhs loso, side aerial, full turn, 1.5 dismount.

4:49 pm. McAvoy, Brown, UB- Toe shoot, short handstand before giant half to bail, giant full, double layout, small step forward (lunged).

DiCarlo, Bridgeport, BB- Hit flight series and a front skill, probably a toss from the sound of it. Good leaps, beat to a low-ish sheep jump, bhs to stuck gainer full.

4:48 pm. Pflieger, UNH, VT- Crashed FTY. Too bad, she’s generally their strongest.

4:47 pm. Ryan, Brown, UB- Short handstand before clea (but slightly late) giant full to double tuck (small hop).

Reimers, Bridgeport, BB- Check on her bhs loso. Nice double full!

Toci, UNH, VT- Hit vault but I missed it. Vault is literally BEHIND ME and it’s so weird having to spin around to watch.

4:46 pm. Carroll, UNH, VT- Handspring front pike with a step.

4:44 pm. Rudd, Brown, UB- Muscled first handstand before clear hip to shaposh, muscled through giant full to double tuck, small hop.

Campbell, Bridgeport, BB- Switch to switch side, very nicely connected front toss to back tuck, 1.5 a little low but no problems getting it around.

Calandra, UNH, VT- Hit Yurchenko layout half.

4:43 pm. O’Leary, UNH, VT- Good handspring front pike.

4:39 pm. Lauter, UNH, VT- FTY slight leg sep in pre-flight, but otherwise not bad.

Howell, Brown, UB- Some short handstands, giant full to double tuck, stuck!

Tralli, Bridgeport, BB- Clean full turn. Bhs loso with her chest a little ow and it causes a slight stumble. Leaps are a tiny bit short. Looked like her foot was a little off on her 1.5 dismount but she recovered well.

4:35 pm. UNH should be leading, 9.875 for Pflieger. I can’t see any scores for vault or bars OR BEAM and don’t think they have live scores.

4:32 pm. Doolin, UNH, FX- Tucked full-in, chest down but good landing. Short on leaps. 1.5 to front layout is good. Double tuck is short and she has a stumble forward, hands down. You could see it in her face on her roundoff bhs, her eyes were like “DAMN I’M TIRED PLEASE GYMNASTICS GODS GET ME AROUND.”

4:31 pm. Liautaud, Bridgeport, UB- Slightly short handstand, but the rest is good, giant full to sky high double tuck.

4:29 pm. Campbell, Bridgeport, UB- Jaeger, clear hip to bail (clean) to toe shoot, full-in with a hop back.

Pflieger, UNH, FX- Looked like she did something through to a double tuck, nice! Front full to front pike with a sassy little “yeah I hit it” finish. Good jumps. AWESOME double pike. Fantastic!

4:25 pm. Powell-Brown, Bridgeport, UB- Literally all of UNH is blocking bars hahaha. Saw a muscled handstand, what was meant to be a giant full that ended up breaking halfway. She repeats it with leg sep into a double tuck.

Calandra, UNH, FX- I loooove these leos. Front double full with a step. Hit front full to front pike well.

4:24 pm. Futch, Bridgeport, UB- Only saw the giant full (leg sep) to double tuck.

O’Leary, UNH, FX- Punch double front! A little squatted but not bad at all. Front full to front layout with a small skid. Double tuck with her chest slightly down, jumps into a lunge.

4:21 pm. Green, Brown, VT- Handspring front pike, low landing with a big step forward.

Christman, Brown, VT- Yurchenko layout, pretty clean!

Morant, Brown, VT- Solid FTY!

4:18 pm. Howell, Brown, VT- Oh, I can kind of see landings. Yurchenko layout with a step back.

Reimers, Bridgeport, UB- Giant full to bail (leg sep and hip pike), kind of wild on her toe front tuck half dismount. Got a ton of distance on it though!

Lauter, UNH, FX- Double pike, controlled lunge. Front lay to barani to split jump. Hit a solid double tuck to finish. 9.7

Rudd, Brown, VT- Yurchenko tuck full with leg sep in the pre-flight.

4:15 pm. Williams, Brown, VT- Yurchenko layout, a tiny bit piked from my angle. I can’t see landings AT ALL from here…I’m facing the vault entry basically.

Drapkin, Bridgeport, UB- Wild legs on bail, hit double layout.

Breeden, UNH, FX- Double pike, good landing literally two feet from me. Double tuck with a step back OOB. 1.5 to front layout a little short but she stands it up. 9.4

4:11 pm. Danielle Mulligan of UNH warmed up today but it looks like they pulled her last-second…not sure why. Courtney Bondanz is taking her place on bars and beam I think.

4:09 pm. Touch starting for UNH/Brown/Bridgeport! One of Bridgeport’s gymnasts Julianna Drapkin came from MG Elite…I remember her attempting to qualify elite when Laurie Hernandez did back at the WOGA Classic in 2011. MEMORIES.

3:37 pm. I’m here at Brown, waiting for warmups to end and for the meet to begin in about twenty minutes!

In the meantime, over at the Lindsay Ferris Invitational, the host team GWU won with a 195.225, followed by Penn in second with a 193.275, UNC in third with a 192.300, and Cornell in fourth with a 190.825. FOUR 9.875s and 9.9s from the GWU girls on beam, but they counted a fall on bars.

Friday January 13

10:45 pm. Okay, Utah obvs wins this one, 196.900 to BYU’s 194.125.

That’ll do it for me tonight. I’m literally asleep…I can take roughly two weeks of NCAA and then I’m like when’s nationals. Tomorrow I’ll be at the Brown meet and I’ll try to watch a few other things as well!

10:41 pm. Rowe, Utah, BB- Bhs bhs loso, hit routine. I AM SO TIRED RIGHT NOW, I have zero patience for this.

Hilton, BYU, FX- Star Wars routine! BYU’s theme is like Disney and PG movies and Beach Boys. IT’S ALL THEY KNOW. Hit routine.

10:37 pm. Lee, Utah, BB- Bhs loso, wow I missed the rest of this but it was hit.

Douglas, BYU, FX- Full-in. 1.5 to front layout.

10:35 pm. Hortman, BYU, FX- Double pike. My fave shark attack routine. Good big double tuck. Front lay front full. THIS ROUTINE IS PERFECT.

10:32 pm. Stover, Utah, BB- Front aerial to bhs, not super quick, switch to straddle jump, ring jump, side aerial gainer full, stuck!

10:31 pm. Trejo, BYU, FX- Whip to double full, NICE. LET IT GOOOOOOOO. I like that this commentator calls L turns “fan turns.” It brings me back to my jazz dance days. 1.5 to front pike. Good routine aside from some little bloopers.

10:28 pm. Skinner, Utah, BB- Great bhs loso series, side aerial to split jump has a slight balance check, switch to split jump is solid, full L turn, straddle jump to back tuck, double tuck with great form and it looked stuck though the camera angle was weird as hell. Anyway, get used to Skinner, she’s awesome.

10:24 pm. Schwab, Utah, BB- Press handstand mount. Front aerial to split jump, bhs loso, full turn, the rest is good. Solid dismount.

Pearson, BYU, FX- YAS my fave big band girl. Nailed double pike. Rudi, her choreo is so cute. These routines are like cheesy cute but fit each gymnast perfectly. Strong finish with a 1.5 to front lay.

10:23 pm. Van Mierlo, BYU, FX- I saw the end after a glitch with the feed…in replay she does a double tuck with a step, front lay to front full at the end.

10:19 pm. Merrell, Utah, BB- Switch to split jump, bhs bhs loso is very clean, front aerial, full turn, front toss, 1.5 is short with a step back.

10:07 pm. Skinner, Utah, FX- Big double double with a step back. 1.5 through to double full, YAS. Great landing. Tucked full-in to end. SOLID. This commentator is peeing her pants.

10:05 pm. Van Mierlo, BYU, BB- Full turn, switch to straddle side, side aerial, stuck gainer full! Beautiful!

10:03 pm. Schwab, Utah, FX- Her choreo is killing me, YAS. Double pike with a little drag back. 1.5 to front layout is nice. 2.5 to finish is also gorgeous.

10:01 pm. Hortman, BYU, BB- Little stumble between her front toss and beat jump. Other than that, a great routine!

Oh, I saw Winston’s final pass, it was a huge double tuck.

9:59 pm. Merrell, Utah, FX- Big double pike, piked full-in with slight leg sep and a low landing.

Winston, Bama, FX- Why am I missing every single Bama floor pass?? UGH. And now my feed is gone again.

9:58 pm. Gnat, LSU, BB- Front aerial, her feet are kind of wonky and the landing is stumbled. Nice recovery, though. Switch side, and a solid bhs loso. Double full with a slight hop.

BYU will count a fall on beam…whoever just went up fell. Angel Zhong I think.

9:56 pm. Guerrero, Bama, FX- Hit big opening pass. And middle pass. And last pass. I looked down every single time she tumbled but it was a fully hit routine.

9:54 pm. Finnegan, LSU, BB- Weird wolf turn, missed a turn I think? Maybe only did one? It was wonky. That’ll be gone by week six. Bhs loso is solid. Side somi. Side aerial to layout full with a good landing.

Roberts, Utah, FX- Strong double pike. Front layout to Rudi. 1.5 to barani to stag. Great work!

9:52 pm. Bailey, Bama, FX- YAS her old music. ALL I WANT IN THE WORLD IS XTINA. Double arabian with a low landing. Remember when two gymnasts did this at American Cup last year? Rudi to finish.

Trejo, BYU, BB- Bobble on a dance series but otherwise good.

9:49 pm. Lewis, Utah, FX- Tucked full-in, a little low with a step forward. Front full front layout. Good double tuck.

Ewing, LSU, BB- Off on bhs layout. Cat leap to switch side, big wobble but saves a second fall. Hit the rest.

9:48 pm. Sims, Bama, FX- A big smile into the camera like Ari. Do they train that?!?! Huge clean double pike. Omg her choreo is so cute and fun without being like “look I’m dabbing can I go viral yet?” AWESOME. 1.5 to front layout, stuck. Nails final pass. YAS.

Miller, BYU, BB- Missed all of this but the stuck gainer full.

9:46 pm. Rowe, Utah, FX- Double pike. Oof, 2.5, didn’t get it all the way around and stumbled it basically onto her face. 1.5 to front layout.

Edney, LSU, BB- Love her little jump mount. Good jump series. Front toss, great landing. Big 1.5 dismount, stuck.

9:45 pm. Desch, Bama, FX- Gorgeous double arabian! Front lay to front half to split jump to front tuck, nice.

Harward of BYU had a fall on beam.

9:43 pm. Hambrick, LSU, BB- I only saw the end, a GORGEOUS stuck double full dismount.

9:41 pm. Guerra, Bama, FX- Big double tuck. She just looked right into the camera and smiled. Hit second pass. 1.5 to front layout is an excellent finish.

9:39 pm. Macadaeg, LSU, BB- Slight stumbles on her opening series, front aerial is lovely, solid bhs loso, stuck gainer full.

9:37 pm. Good feature with Maddie Desch just now, talking about how she kinda lost her passion after getting injured doing elite in 2015 but she’s learning to get it back in NCAA.

9:34 pm. Skinner, Utah, VT- Clean DTY in the air, landing lacks some control though. Step back.

9:32 pm. Missouri finishes at 195.850 to Arkansas’ 193.950.

9:30 pm. Gnat, LSU, FX- Big double layout. Double pike was huge.

9:28 pm. Ward, Mizzou, BB- Bhs bhs loso, yas! Hit the rest like nbd.

Hortman, BYU, UB- Shark attack girl! Huge floaty Gienger, SUPER clean, bail, excellent stuck double layout!!

Guerrero, Bama, BB- Bhs loso loso, nice! Switch to straddle jump. Nailed the dismount.

Merrell, Utah, VT- Yurchenko 1.5, slightly squatted landing.

9:26 pm. McGlone, Ark, FX- Big clean double layout into a nice lunge! Front full to front layout. Big routine.

Lewis, Utah, VT- Huuuge FTY, hop back.

Kelly, LSU, FX- Nailed double layout landing. Front lay front full, downgraded from the tucked full-in. Double tuck, chest slightly down but good landing.

9:25 pm. Winston, Bama, BB- Beautiful front aerial to bhs. Big clean double tuck!

Kelly, Mizzou, BB- Front aerial bhs, cat leap to switch side,

Schwab, Utah, VT- Okay she looks ginger too. Must be the lighting. Yurchenko tucked 1.5, a little messy and off to the side.

9:24 pm. Lee, Utah, VT- Clean FTY, chest down, big hop back on the landing.

Hambrick, LSU, FX- I missed all of Sims’ beam and had to restart the feed FYI. Double pike is huuuge. Step back.

Trejo, BYU, UB- Tkachev with bent knees, clear hip to bail (leg sep), double layout stuck!

9:22 pm. Sims, Bama, BB- Ugh, this feed needs to chill. I lose it every minute.

Schugel, Mizzou, BB- Bhs loso loso is lovely. Another hit routine! Like Kentucky, Mizzou is KILLING IT this season.

Maybe it’s the lighting but Skinner looks like she added a little ginger to her hair. #ImportantGymnasticsThings

9:20 pm. Finnegan, LSU, FX- Double tuck is solid. 1.5 to 2.5!!! Lovely double pike.

Yamzon, Ark, FX- Good double back. Double pike a little low but she stands it up.

9:18 pm. Bama, BB- Switch + straddle, nervous on bhs loso and she has a wobble but pulls it back up. Screams at herself before her dismount. 1.5 with a step forward.

Porter, Mizzou, BB- Switch to split jump, front aerial to bhs is nice, 1.5 with a hop.

9:17 pm. Bargiacchi, Ark, FX- Hit opening pass and last pass. Detailed info. They’re just having fun right now with zero chances of winning this.

Zamardi, LSU, FX- My feed is frozen and loading. Double arabian, little stumble back. That’s all I saw.

Miller, BYU, VT- Clean FTY.

9:16 pm. Harris, Mizzou, BB- Great routine, finished with gainer full.

Rowe, Utah, UB- Clean work so far, short last handstand, double layout with slight leg sep but it’s stuck.

9:15 pm. Childers, Bama, BB- Off on bhs loso. Gets back on and does well, 1.5 to finish.

Gonna do what I can from the Utah / BYU meet. Skinner got a 9.875 on bars.

9:14 pm. Nelson, Ark, FX- Double pike into a controlled lunge. Double tuck, chest down but nice landing.

9:12 pm. Bower, Mizzou, BB- Good bhs loso. Front toss to beat jump. Good gainer full.

Ewing, LSU, FX- Front double full a little short. Stuck front full front lay. A little short with her chest down on the last pass.

9:11 pm. McNeer, Bama, BB- I love that she’s the leadoff for literally everything. Bhs loso, a little check and hip break. 1.5 stuck with her feet apart and chest down.

9:03 pm. Brannan, Bama, UB- Big Jaeger, bail, double layout with a couple of small steps back.

Harris, Mizzou, FX- Nice double pike to start. Double tuck into a controlled lunge.

9:02 pm. Gnat, LSU, VT- DTY stuck cold with the usual leg form. If she had done that at home last week it would’ve been a 10 for sure. Ooh, in the slo mo her legs look WAY better than they did last week!!! Still crossed on the end but DAMN that looks WAY FREAKING BETTER??? I’d give it a 10. Absolutely.

9:00 pm. Ark, BB- Cat leap to switch side, bhs loso, flexed feet and a slight balance check. Fell on something, missed her foot a little on her dismount so she had a step on the gainer full.

Hambrick, LSU, VT- Beautiful FTY that sailed down from the heavens.

Winston, Bama, UB- Big Ray, HUGE floaty pak!!! Stuck double layout on her toes. YAS.

8:59 pm. Edney, LSU, VT- Yurchenko 1.5, looked good from what I saw.

Bailey, Bama, UB- Oh, Bailey’s up now, good, I didn’t miss her. I thought I heard them say Bailey earlier and was sad. Well, I missed someone! Lovely routine as always including a huge tucked full-in dismount, step back.

8:58 pm. Jetter, Bama, UB- Great handstand, nice Ray, can we please have a tri-meet with Bama, LSU, and Florida so Jetter, Priessman, and Hundley can get back together?!?!?! Great routine, lovely lines the whole way through.

8:57 pm. I missed Katie Bailey’s bars but it seemed fab.

Ewing, LSU, VT- Yurchenko 1.5 with a hop.

Yamzon, Ark, BB- Hit routine, 1.5 to finish.

8:55 pm. Porter, Mizzou, FX- Double pike. Good middle pass.

McNeer, Bama, UB- Only saw the stuck double layout but it seemed like a great routine.

Priessman, LSU, VT- Great landing on her FTY but she doesn’t get a ton of height.

8:53 pm. Nelson, Ark, BB- Great flight series, punch front, solid 1.5 dismount.

Finnegan, LSU, VT- FTY, nice form, but a deep landing.

8:51 pm. Huber, Mizzou, FX- Double pike, a little low, step forward. 2.5 with some leg form issues, but a good landing.

8:49 pm. McGlone, Ark, BB- Pike jump loso, wobble on bhs loso but she saves it, hits the rest.

8:46 pm. Garner, Ark, BB- Some minor little bobbles, side aerial layout full dismount.

Tucker, Mizzou, FX- Front tuck through to double tuck, chest down but a great landing. Rudi and double pike are great.

Priessman, LSU, BB- Huge Tkachev to pak, pak is awkward with leg sep but I mean that’s an elite connection so cool. Stuck double layout.

8:44 pm. Finnegan, LSU, UB- Big Ray, bail to toe shoot, way short last handstand, double layout stuck cold.

Bailey, Bama, VT- Yurchenko half, step forward but beautiful body line.

HOW on beam did Korth get a 9.875 but McMurtry get a 9.8????? HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW.

8:23 pm. Dukes, Kentucky, BB- Bhs loso, lunges it back and has a little wobble. Front aerial to beat jump, hit switch leap, 1.5 with a step back.

Huber, Mizzou, VT- Clean FTY with a little bounce in place.

8:21 pm. Mizzou vault lineup is Kern, Huber, Tucker, Harris, Porter, and Ward.

Chant, Florida, FX- Big double layout, some leg sep in the air and she’s a little short on the landing. Front tuck through to double tuck, also a little low with her chest down. Double pike, tries to hold this one up instead of being short, but she rotates too far back and sits OOB.

Yay, Sydney McGlone got a 9.9 on her FTY! Super deserved.

8:12 pm. No sixth vault for Arkansas after Wellick’s last-minute absence.

Porter, Mizzou, UB- She’s back after her suspension, which ended up being one meet. Straddle Jaeger to overshoot, double front is a little cowboyed but good landing, just a slight bounce.

Stuart, Kentucky, BB- Switch to stag, some leg form issues on her flight series, leg hold to show off flexibility, cat leap to side aerial to tuck full, good landing.

8:04 pm. MacMoyle, Ark, VT- Good FTY.

Kelly, Mizzou, UB- Caught her release a lil close, bail is nice, big clean double layout with a small step.

Pittsburgh snuck out a win against West Virginia! Kind of big. 194.125 to 193.875.

Florida’s leading 148.275 to Kentucky’s 147.825. A little annoyed at some of their beam scores with big mistakes, ahem, McMurtry.

8:02 pm. Yamzon, Ark, VT- FTY, not bad! Good landing.

Tucker, Mizzou, UB- Nice Jaeger, lovely handstands, bail is a lil messy, giant full is clean into a double tuck, stuck on her toes but her chest is down.

8:01 pm. TURNING ON ARKANSAS AND MIZZOU AND AMANDA WELLICK IS INJURED UGHHHHHHHHHH

7:59 pm. I missed the last WVU routine but it was hit and saved them from counting a fall.

Pearson, Pitt, FX- Double tuck. Nice front layout front full. Double pike with her chest down, but that was otherwise awesome.

Chant’s beam exhibition had a wobble on her bhs loso but she saved it. Gainer pike with a hop.

7:55 pm. McMurtry, Florida, BB- Cat leap to front toss, bhs loso with beautiful extension but she has too much energy and there’s a big wobble. Switch leap back leg is a little low to her hip circle, double full with a hop forward.

Galpin, WVU, BB- Everything looked good, side aerial to layout full with a small hop on the landing.

Petrikis, Pitt, FX- Big double pike to start. Double tuck with her landing bouncd out.

7:51 pm. Gowey, Florida, BB- Lovely switch leap to split jump. Bhs loso loso, not enough gas for the second one but she saves it with a super low landing. Cat leap into a front aerial, gainer full with a hop back.

Wright, WVU, BB- Front toss to Korbut, LOVELY. Front toss. Hit the dismount.

7:49 pm. Reichert, Pitt, FX- Double pike, some leg sep in the air, but great landing. 1.5 to punch front pike. Big double tuck, low chest but hit.

Hyland, Kentucky, FX- Beautiful double pike to start. The rest is FAB and she’s having a blast.

7:48 pm. Boren, Florida, BB- Big front toss, solid bhs loso, cat leap to gainer loso, good gainer full dismount.

Cumber, WVU, BB- Bhs loso, lands it but then her chest goes too far sideways and she jumps off. Slow jump connections, 1.5 with a hop forward.

7:46 pm. Stuart, Kentucky, FX- Double pike, uncontrolled big bounce back. Sat her second pass and one of her leaps was really short in the back leg. Hit last pass.

Hall, Pitt, FX- Hit her opening pass. Wolf full tuck jump 1.5, nice!

7:44 pm. Hundley, Florida, BB- Front aerial, wobble. Solid bhs loso. Cat leap to switch side. Full turn is slightly out of control. Side aerial to layout full with a little bounce in place.

Spivey, Pitt, FX- 2.5 is nice. Good double tuck. Rudi with a step.

Goldberg, WVU, BB- Front handspring to loso, nice. Everything else is clean, punch front full dismount that looked really low from the camera angle and I thought she was gonna crash on her head but GUESS WHAT I’m just inventing traumas.

7:39 pm. Carlisle, Kentucky, FX- Double back with a nice lunge landing. Oooh, nice roundoff whip to 1.5 to punch front! Great start!

7:38 pm. Baker, Florida, BB- Wolf turn, front aerial to bhs, good connection. Side aerial to layout full is nice.

7:37 pm. West Virginia jumped ahead of Pittsburgh after Pitt’s falls on beam…145.425 to 145.25. Gonna be close!

7:34 pm. Florida leads 98.975 to Kentucky’s 98.5. Biggest Florida score was McMurtry with a 9.95 and Hundley also got a 9.925! YAS.

Georgia, meanwhile, got a another 49.275 on vault! All in the 9.8 range including 9.875s from Johnson and Snead. But never forget…beam. They’re at 98.55 while Auburn is at 98.025.

Koshinski, WVU, FX- Huge double layout. Great double pike. Brilliant!

7:29 pm. Korth, Kentucky, VT- Yurchenko 1.5 with a step forward. Tons of height, though, and nice in the air.

McMurtry, Florida, UB- Big Ray, lovely handstand before superb bail to toe shoot, last handstand is nice, super high full-in with a bounce in place (again they’re like “stuck!” but it wasn’t, commentators need to not be MEGAFANS of teams)

Muhammad, WVU, FX- Front tuck through to double tuck, slightly low but nice landing.

7:28 pm. West, Pitt, BB- Saw the 1.5 dismount. Hit routine.

Stuart, Kentucky, VT- FTY, landed with feet apart and then a hop back, but good height.

Hundley, Florida, UB- Hit the beginning well, van Leeuwen is very clean, nearly-stuck full-in. Every Florida gymnast has the weirdest pike in their giants?? Is that like, a coaching thing there?

7:26 pm. Dukes, Kentucky, VT- Yurchenko half, excellent!!! Great landing. Feet apart.

Goldberg, WVU, FX- Piked full-in, bounces back. Fell on her Rudi. Looks like she’s gonna cry in the rest of her choreo and I can’t tell if it’s like, her routine emotions or fall sadness.

Baker, Florida, UB- Huge Ray, bail to toe shoot, great last handstand before toe half to double front, nearly stuck (they called it a stick but there was a bounce in place).

7:24 pm. Kwan, Kentucky, VT- Will the Belarus jokes never end in my head? FTY with a huge bounce back.

7:22 pm. Cumber, WVU, FX- Hit first pass, underrotated front layout front full second pass,

7:20 pm. Reichert, Pitt, BB- Nice bhs loso. Front toss with a wobble into her split jump. 1.5 dismount. Good work.

Boren, Florida, UB- Great handstand, huge Tkachev, clear hip to bail, slight leg sep, huge double layout with a huge hop back.

7:18 pm. Bernard, WVU, FX- Suuuuuper open double pike. Double tuck also super open. Hit the last pass.

Georgia currently beating Auburn after a 49.275 on bars! Auburn has a 48.9 on vault. Soooo hopefully last week was a fluke for the Gym Dogs…Snead again a standout with a 9.9 but everyone that counted a score was in the 9.8 range.

7:17 pm. Brett, Pitt, BB- Front aerial to split jump, bhs loso landed a little low but she fights and stays on, hit gainer pike.

7:15 pm. Merwin, WVU, FX- Rudi into a high loso, she’s the second NCAA gymnast I’ve seen this season with a little piece of Lieke Wevers’ choreo. If you’re gonna jack choreo, Lieke’s the one to jack. Hit second pass. Actually I think it’s also similar to something Chayse Capps did a couple years ago too. Both excellent people to cheat off of. Rudi to finish.

Florida leads 49.5 to Kentucky’s 49.3. That’s kind of a big deal for Kentucky?!?! KEEP IT UP.

7:14 pm. Gowey just exhibitioned an FTY, not bad.

Pearson, Pitt, BB- Had a wobble on her punch front mount which caused a little balance issue, and then she fell on her flight series. Front toss, 1.5 with a big step forward.

7:13 pm. Korth, Kentucky, UB- One of my fave freshmen this season! Piked Jaeger, great handstands, bail is good but just a slightly bent hip angle, full-twisting double layout with a tiny hop and her chest slightly down.

7:12 pm. McMurtry, Florida, VT- Huuuuuuge DTY! Wow, she brought that early this season, I wasn’t expecting it for a while. Hops her heels back slightly and yet a coach is like “TEN TEN TEN” hahaha.

7:11 pm. Hyland, Kentucky, UB- Lovely giant full to Gienger, a little low but very clean. Bail to toe shoot is great, excellent handstand before full-in dismount, stuck in a squat with her feet apart.

Pitt is leading WVU 97.325 to 96.6 btw.

7:10 pm. Boren, Florida, VT- Yurchenko 1.5, huuuuuge! Legs apart on the pre-flight and the landing, and a hop to bring her heels together.

7:08 pm. Baker, Florida, VT- Yurchenko 1.5 with a small hop forward.

Laymon, Pitt, UB- Piked Jaeger, giant full is lovely to bail (not bad), hit the dismount with a step back.

7:01 pm. I missed whoever just vaulted. Muhammed with a big FTY apparently. GRR, I wanted that.

Brett, Pitt, UB- HUUUUGE BEAUTIFUL GIENGER!!!! YAS! Toe-on to bail a little wonky.

6:59 pm. Cluchey, WVU, VT- FTY, slightly loose form, a little low on the landing.

Dugan, Pitt, UB- Very nice gienger, clear hip short to bail short, hit the dismount.

6:55 pm. Merwin, WVU, VT- Yurchenko layout half, step forward.

Tripp, Pitt, UB- Niiiice handstand, big straddle Jaeger, bail a little short, clean giant full to double tuck, small hop forward. Nice lines on that one.

6:54 pm. Goldberg, WVU, VT- FTY, not bad. Step back and maybe some directional issues and slight leg form. 9.65

Hall, Pitt, UB- Way short handstand, Gienger (leg sep), clear hip to pak (flexed feet but decent legs), short handstand but not as bad as the first, giant full to double tuck, chest down and a step forward.

6:52 pm. Bernard, WVU, VT- Yurchenko layout half, flares it out like she’s gonna nail it but then lands on the backs of her heels and sits it. 9.2

Pearson, Pitt, UB- Short handstand into Gienger (leg sep), giant half to front giant half to bail (short), giant full (a tiny bit late) into a double tuck, step back. 9.65

6:48 pm. So, Pittsburgh has a big lead at 48.425 over West Virginia’s 47.8. WVU was 25th in the nation on bars last week but that’s hella gonna change this time around.

6:44 pm. Pearson, Pitt, VT- Huge FTY! Hop to the side. 9.825.

Kaufman, WVU, UB- Caught Tkachev, bail with leg separation, short handstand before giant full (maaaaajor leg separation) to double tuck with a bounce. She may have opened with a Weiler? I missed the beginning but saw her come up from what looked like a Weiler. Prob a clear hip but cool if she did the Weiler! 9.525

6:42 pm. Pikula, Pitt, VT- I had to let my Thai food delivery guy in but did I hear “full on tuck off”?!?!?!?! 9.675

Muhammad, WVU, UB- Tkachev got a ton of height but not any distance and she catches practically over the bar, double layout is also close to the bar but it’s very straight! Hop back. 9.675

6:40 pm. Collins, Pitt, VT- FTY, her form/line is better than the others, but she gets almost no block and puts it to her knees. 9.125

Cumber, WVU, UB- Was gonna go for a Maloney but missed her toes and had to hop off so WVU will count a fall. Leg sep on Maloney when she does it this time, into a pak (nice), short last handstand before giant full to double tuck, step back.

6:38 pm. Spivey, Pitt, VT- Spivey, Pitt, VT- Any relation to Hope? FTY, some form issues with her legs, and she pikes and has a step on the landing. 9.625

Wright, WVU, UB- Short handstand before Maloney (leg sep) to bail (leg sep) to toe shoot, stalder! to double tuck, stuck. Stalder was very nice. 9.8

6:36 pm. Reichert, Pitt, VT- Yurchenko layout half, suuuuper tucked with a step forward. 9.625

Cluchey, WVU, UB- Jaeger, too far from the bar and her fingers slip right off. Fall. Pak with leg separation, last handstand is almost there, floaty double layout, college stick where she jumps out quickly to salute. 8.975

6:32 pm. Pretty much every single meet has both stats and a stream tonight! Check out the full schedule.

West, Pitt, VT- FTY, off to the side, big step back. 9.675

Bernard, WVU, UB- Jaeger, knees bent when she caught, leg sep on the bail, short handstand before giant full to double tuck, tiny step. 9.7

6:30 pm. Waiting on Pittsburgh and West Virginia to start any second!

  1. I don’t think BYU should be allowed to have the large logo in the middle of their floor. It’s super distracting to watch…I can’t imagine what it’s like to compete on it.

  2. Really sorry for dumb question but I’m in China, where every gymternet resource in English EXCEPT YOUR SITE is blocked! (And by the time I leave, I’ll have forgotten to look this up.) Here’s the question: what’s a front toss?

    • LOL that’s amazing. SHOUTOUT TO CHINA for letting me invade you. A front toss is like…halfway between a front aerial and a front tuck kinda? It’s like a front flip landed on both feet so it’s more like a landing of a punch front tuck, but in the air it’s more like an aerial if that makes sense.

      • Lol thanks Lauren! I’m sure there’s a Chinese gymternet around, but it’ll be on WeChat in Mandarin or something… I’m missing out on 3 weeks of tumblr gymternet, it’s tragic!

        • Yeah, I think I’ve heard of the Weibo gymternet…I’ve been to it a couple of times at one point when trying to get nationals info but it’s all in Mandarin and I have to do google translate which makes everything not make any sense at all lol.
