The Pack kicked off the season, the first under head coach Kim Landrus, with a solid start on the road, counting 20 for 20 hit routines with top scores coming in on vault and floor. For visiting UIC, Mikailla Northern anchored all four events with an excellent performance across the board, coming close to Knight in the all-around with a 9.8 on floor her top mark of the meet. Overall it was a great meet for the Chicago-based squad, which counted no falls. In addition to Northern, Serena Baker was fantastic on bars and Kayla Baddeley stole the show on beam, with these two events the team’s best.

Host team NIU counted a couple of rough routines, including a fall on beam, but they finished their meet with an incredible floor rotation, anchored by Anna Martucci with a 9.8. Ashley Potts was consistent across her four events, contributing some of the team’s best scores including a 9.825 on bars in addition to tying for second all-around, and Katherine Prentice showed confidence on beam and floor to contribute solid scores there.
