This year’s English Championships are set to begin tomorrow, February 28, in Telford and will continue throughout the weekend with massive groups of WAG and MAG athletes set to take the stage across every level of competition.

Though two recent injuries in the senior women’s field will damper the fun a bit, as Charlotte Booth had a routine-ending – and elite career-ending, devastatingly – fall on floor at the Cottbus World Cup the day after winning a medal on bars and Jennifer Gadirova announced an ACL injury that happened at a national team camp earlier in the year.

We’ll still see a ton of talent on the national stage, though with 2024 Olympians Alice Kinsella and Georgia-Mae Fenton expected to compete, while 2020 Olympic medalist Jessica Gadirova is on the roster and could make her return to competition for the first time since world championships in 2023. In the men’s field, we have three Paris Olympians on the roster – Harry Hepworth, Jake Jarman, and Luke Whitehouse – along with several other top talents, like Courtney Tulloch and Joshua Nathan, both of whom have just returned from the Cottbus World Cup.

For a quick rundown, the women’s espoir athletes will compete on Friday, while on Saturday we’ll see the senior men and women along with the junior U18 men, and on Sunday the meet will close out with the junior women along with the men in the U16 and U14 categories.
