In about two weeks, a whole mess of international elites – including dozens and dozens of our favorites – are going to graduate from the junior to senior ranks. I’m sure we can all recall the debuts of some of these kids made, especially those who burst onto the scene with insane talent and potential, and now here they are, all grown up and age-eligible for World Championships?! I feel about 80 years old, so before I start blabbering about the fleeting passage of time, we have an extensive list of over 250 new seniors listed in alphabetical order by country. Did we leave anyone behind? Let us know!

Oh, yeah, I remember hearing about that! Too bad…I’ll take her off.

For China, Deng Yalan and Liu Jinru will also be turning seniors in 2015. I love this list, btw! 🙂

Great, thank you! It was difficult to get some of their birth years, so this helps!

Liu Jinru is from 2000 (for the longest time I thought she was 1999 too but seems she isn’t).
Oh and you made a typo with Deng Yalan’s name hihi. Hong Ke and Fan Yilin are on the NT and from 1999. There are some more non-NT members too but there’s no need for a China overload :p

Thanks! I took anyone from the FIG database with a 1999 birth year for China, so that’s where I got any spellings/birth year info. I’ll go through and clean it up at some point.

Do you think any of the canadians will have a significant impact? Canada isn’t looking too hot right now.

I was actually going to write a little article about their girls named Sydney…because Laird, Soloski, and Townsend all showed really great potential this year, even if their AA scores were a tad bit low. I think there’s definitely room for improvement there, and then Shallon Olsen – who turns senior in 2016 – was very hyped as a 12-year-old because she had a DTY, though she’s kind of gone stagnant everywhere else so I’m not sure if she’ll be as much of a threat but she at least has some promise! I also really hope current senior Isabela Onyshko gets a bit stronger. She’s lovely and it’d be nice to see her do well internationally.

The Finnish girls look better like this: Sonja Heliö, Laura Jäkälä, Lotta Pitkänen 🙂

Thanks, I’ll change it! I got the names from the FIG registry, and the FIG doesn’t do accents on any names…very annoying! I know I always miss a lot of Turkish accents too.

Great list! 🙂 USA’s Vanasia Bradley, Kailey Gillings, Abigail Matthews, and Anastasia Webb will be seniors next year, too.

Sorry it’s Viktoria Kuzmina.

Kuzmina turned senior this year. No idea what she’s been doing.

For France Louise Pilla and Noémie Marrot are the last two 2015-seniors (along with Izabela Iosip but she can’t compete with France as she still has the romanian nationality and the procedure is very long).

Excited to see Yakubava from Belarus- I enjoyed seeing her at YOG. Also, Sydney Townsend is finally a senior! yay! Feel like I’ve been watching her career forever !
LikeLike
I thought Yakubava was GORGEOUS at YOGs. I really hope she’s able to add difficulty so she’ll be more recognizable as a senior…or at least does as many World Challenge Cups as she possibly can!

I think you’ve stuck Eden Tarvit under Austria instead of Australia.
Great list though thanks! So much talent!

Good catch! Thank you! I’ll fix it ASAP.

Yulia Biryulya is another Russian born in 1999. I doubt she’ll make an impact, but she did get an assignment this fall.

France : +Louise Pilla, Noemie Marrot and Izabela Iosip 🙂

Thank you!! I will add them. 🙂

But Izabela Iosip doesn’t have French nationality and the procedure is long so I don’t know if she will get for 2014. You are not required to add it.

Thanks – I added any gymnast registered with the FIG, and Felicity was registered which is why she was added even though she may not be elite. Now that I know for sure, I’ll remove her!

Why isn’t any new gymnast coming out out of Korea (Dem. Pop.Rep)? Which is North Korea?
