12:25 pm. Be back after the mixed zone!

12:23 pm. Brown AUS BB: Bhs loso, a little sideways with her hips and she can’t hold on. 😦 Front aerial, transverse split jump half, a little short, side aerial is nice, switch leap, pause, misses connection to the jump series. Side somi is good. Little wobble on the full Y turn. Finishes strong with a clean double full, little hop back.

12:19 pm. Nedov AUS BB: bhs bhs layout , little stumble. Wobbled on a transverse jump. Double pike, chest a bit forward and a step. Hit everything I saw pretty well!

Yeo KOR VT: Second vault is the DTY, excellent!!! Just a bounce in place. Fantastic. Okay, she must medal. She looks so improved even just from the world cup and Asian Games!! 14.4! Averages 14.483. That is podium worthy.

Castaneda CRC UB: Clear hip to Tkachev, nice, bail, hit the dismount.

12:18 pm. Yeo KOR VT: Rudi, EXCELLENT!!!!! asjfaksdfj I’m so happy!!!!!!! Solid landing, form is pretty tight, just some leg stuff, but overall a really solid vault. 14.566

12:16 pm. Turobova UZB FX: Double tuck, chest down. Front layout. Bounce back on her last pass.

Modaro AUS BB: I missed the beginning, caught it from her full turn. Switch to switch half, a tad short. Front aerial, pause, Korbut. Hit the dismount. 12.633

Yun KOR VT: Another solid FTY, just not a ton of power. They’re all super tiny. Power coming up next though!

Salas CRC UB: Pak, messy van Leeuwen, but damn, big skills for Costa Rica! Caught her Jaeger. Open double pike with a step back.

12:15 pm. Ham KOR VT: Nice FTY! Looked stuck.

South Korea here compared to the Test Event is like watching two entirely different programs. INSANE.

12:13 pm. Nekrasova AZE FX: Double pike, lovely! Front layout to front pike, simple but clean. A couple of steps back out of her double tuck. Step on the 2.5. 12.033

Whitehead AUS BB: Switch to split jump, off on her bhs back pike. 😦 Solid punch front. Little check on the front aerial. Side aerial, hit the dismount with a hop forward. 11.566

Murillo CRC UB: Goes for a big Ray but misses. 😦 Back on and hits the rest but then stumbles back and sits the double pike.

Kim KOR VT: Weak FTY.

12:10 pm. 14.1 for Murakami on floor! Those little bounces on the landings took away from her E, would love to see her clean them up a bit to be a bit more competitive but she’ll still wind up on the podium with a routine like that in finals even if she’s no longer the frontrunner for gold.

12:06 pm. Murakami JPN FX: Here we GOOOOOO! Her music reminds me of Grey’s Anatomy. Double double with a hop. Big double layout with a baby hop. 2.5 to front full is fab, it was a bit messy on the landing in warmups so that’s good to see. Double pike, great chest position, little hop back.

Brown AUS UB: Full pirouette to Chow to Pak, clean Maloney to Gienger, nice, caught another release after that and then her double front, a little cowboyed but solid. Very lovely work.

12:02 pm. Teramoto JPN FX: Whip whip through to triple full, GIRL YAS. Front double full. Finishes with a very very very low double pike, stumbles it back OOB.

Whitehead AUS UB: Toe full to Maloney is good, Pak to van Leeuwen, some leg form stuff but gets it around, blind change to Khorkina, yay, good form on that, layout dismount is stuck.

Turobova UZB BB: Off on her bhs loso. Wobbles on her punch front. Layout full with a step.

Time to raise the bars 400 miles into the sky for GRB!

11:59 am. Hatakeda JPN FX: Hit her opening pass, sorry my blog isn’t loading fast enough for me to type and then I forget what skills they do lol. TRASH. Second is a 2.5 to front tuck, nice! Slight stumble on the double pike.

Nekrasova AZE UB: Caught it from the punch front. Good side somi. The rest was hit.

Modaro AUS UB: Blind full, blind change to piked Jaeger, Pak, a little muscly on the last handstand so it ends up short, full-in, a tad low with a hop.

11:58 am. Nedov AUS UB: I wasn’t typing throughout this but it was a hit routine, stuck front layout dismount.

Murillo CRC VT: FTY, hit.

11:56 am. Kajita JPN FX: Triple full, not bad! Hop back. 2.5, comes out of it low into a squatted front tuck. Front double full.

Chusovitina BB: Hit her mount, then a solid punch front pike. Solid jumps. Bhs layout, really a pike but shhh. Punch front. Step back on the dismount.

11:50 am. Yun KOR FX: A little short on her switch full into the corner before her first pass, which she hit. Double pike I think. 2.5 to front full, apparently compulsory for South Korea! Hit routine.

13.433 for Mai! And 12.966 for Yeo. Got docked on her dance I think.

Kajita JPN BB: Bhs loso, bent back leg and she falls. Last minute sub here, though, and it’s not her best event. Low back leg on her switch ring. Full turn. 2.5, a little low with a hop. Well, they’ll want to drop that, but the other three were great.

11:46 pm. Yeo KOR FX: Here’s ma GURL. Big double layout, hop back. 2.5 to front layout. Great 1.5 to Rudi. Little bounce on the double pike. SHE IS SO GOOD. It’s hard to believe this is her first year as a senior. I need her on the vault podium more than anything now.

13.133 for Teramoto! That would’ve been a 12 last year. I’m so happy with the improved beam scoring.

Murakami JPN BB: Little check on her leap mount. Great punch front pike. Super solid bhs loso. Hit a leap after that. Punch front tuck, tiny step. Double pike with a step. Excellent. Japan looks GOOD.

11:45 am. Nekrasova AZE UB: Toe full to toe shoot, some ankle stuff, blind change to front giant half, double pike, stumble forward, I must have missed the beginning.

11:42 am. Eade AUS VT: Solid FTY!

Teramoto JPN BB: Check on the double spin. Onodi. Front aerial to a solid jump series. Switch half, little check. Leap into a side somi. A little short on the triple full, big step back out of it.

Brown AUS VT: Another solid FTY…stuck! Some leg stuff and not a ton of power but lovely as always.

Kim KOR FX: Bounce back on her first pass. And her second. Beautiful switch ring, through to switch half. 1.5 to front full. Lovely tour jeté half. Way short on the double pike, lunge forward.

Whitehead AUS VT: Sat the Yurchenko 1.5. 😦

11:36 am. Hatakeda JPN BB: Punch front, front aerial, jumps, all good. Switch leap to switch half is lovely. Double pike with a step.

Turobova UZB UB: Hit routine! Stuck the layout dismount.

Lee KOR FX: Wow, 2.5 to front full! This girl has upgraded her ass off?! Double spin. I think I missed her first pass BTW. Good double full.

Modaro AUS VT: FTY, a little low but good!

CHUSO CHALKING THE BARS FOR MARINA NEKRASOVA LIKE A MOM

11:33 am. Nekarasova AZE VT: Weird, so she crashed her 1.5 earlier, then waited on the podium for 5 hours before coming off so I assumed she wouldn’t do a second vault…but then after Chuso and Turobova vaulted she got back on the podium for her second set, a tsuk full. Much better than the first. But didn’t know it was allowed to split them up like that.

Hatakeda JPN UB: Van Leeuwen, piked Jaeger, big Tkachev, bail, stalder to Ray, short handstand before giants to her high full-in dismount, little hop.

11:31 am. Kim KOR BB: Switch leap mount, big floaty bhs loso, nice, her teammates are SOOOO LOUD lol. Front aerial, split jump to stag ring jump, she’s quite good! Stuck double full! Good for her.

Turobova UZB VT: Tsuk back pike, a little rough.

11:30 am. Chusovitina UZB VT: Second vault is a tsuk 1.5, step to the side. Couldn’t really see it in the air from here but again, pretty much classic Chuso.

Teramoto JPN UB: Caught her first release, inbar to stalder full a little wild to Gienger, caught close with bent legs and the coach practically grabbed her. Straddle Jaeger, bail, a little crooked, to Ray, high stuck full-in!

11:29 am. Castaneda CRC FX: I saw a double tuck and a 1.5 to front tuck, both had some form issues and landing deductions but overall a hit routine.

11:27 am. Chusovitina UZB VT: First was the handspring Rudi, or at least she put the sign up for the Rudi…but she did the full instead. Big lunge out of it. Typical Chuso vault. I think they all look exactly the same. 14.3

Yeo KOR BB: Bhs loso is solid. Hit her front aerial. Hit everything else I saw, double pike with a little hop. YEOOOO!!!! Queen.

Murakami JPN UB: Toe-on to Maloney to Gienger, nice. Blind change to piked Jaeger. Straddle Jaeger. She’s just like Simone. Not her best event but she is STILL SO GOOD AT IT. Lovely bail. High stuck full-in. About as excellent as she could’ve wanted it.

11:25 am. Salas CRC FX: Hit her first pass. Solid double tuck. Back leg on her switch ring almost decapitates her, that’s how RINGED it was. 1.5 to stag.

Yun KOR BB: Hit everything I saw so far, really nice jumps. I didn’t see most of this but it sounded hit. We shall see.

11:24 am. Kajita JPN UB: I wasn’t typing during the beginning but she hit her transitions and piked Jaeger, nice stalder full, a tad late, dismounts with a full-in, solid landing.

11:21 am. Lee KOR BB: Front aerial, nice. Split leap to side aerial, basically stuck the 2.5. Fab routine!

Murillo CRC FX: Hop on her double tuck. 1.5 to front tuck is good. Solid switch ring to switch half, the Costa Ricans are SO good at dance elements. Double full to finish. 11.533.

Nekrasova AZE VT: Yurchenko 1.5, crashed. 😦

Belgian girls are in the crowd watching. Nina said they’re going to watch a few subdivisions throughout the next copule of days.

11:20 am. Aiko Sugihara is out with back pain. The other four will all be doing the AA. Good thing they’re all really good all-arounders?

11:15 am. Eade AUS FX: Solid double layout! 1.5 through to double tuck, a little cowboyed but makes it work on the landing. Hop on the double pike.

Kim KOR UB: Tkachev, messy pak caught close and she has to muscle out of it, Ray to high, caught her Jaeger, double pike dismount with a hop.

11:11 am. Murillo CRC BB: Off on bhs back tuck. 10.3

Whitehead AUS FX: Excellent arabian double front!! 1.5 to front layout is also lovely. Little stumble on the double tuck. Mostly a really solid routine! 12.533

Murakami JPN VT: DTY, excellent. Little hop.

Lee KOR UB: Bail to clear hip to toe shoot, nice. Piked Jaeger. Double layout with a step. 12.700

11:10 am. Yun KOR UB: Hit the beginning, including a Pak, van Leeuwen, a little messy, blind full, leg separation, caught her release and hit the dismount. 12.366

Teramoto JPN VT: Rudi, great landing! Some form stuff in the air. Btw, Kajita vaulted instead of Sugihara, who’s on the start list. I hope she’s okay… 14.433

11:08 am. Hatakeda JPN VT: I missed it, think she did a Yurchenko 1.5… 13.533

Brown AUS FX: Their leos are killer FYI.  Step out of her front double full. Cowboyed double tuck but lands it well. Lovely double full. 12.366

Salas CRC BB: Switch leap to split jump. Back tuck, fall. 😦  Hit the rest I think, and the dismount.

Kajita JPN VT: Clean but not a very powerful FTY. Solid landing.

11:04 am. Modaro AUS FX: Good double tuck, solid 1.5 to front tuck, solid double pike. Good for her coming late onto this team and doing really well! 12.6

Castaneda CRC BB: Switch leap, then hit her jump series. Side aerial, little wobble, little stumble on her back tuck after that. Chest down on I think a side somi.

Yeo KOR UB: Blind change to piked Jaeger, good, also hit a Tkachev, YAY. I just need her to get through this. I need her in the all-around final. Stuck double layout!!!!!!!!!! 11.908

    • Update. So, the links in the “how to watch” page for NBC don’t work, but the one in the “watch now” page does. Meanwhile, I missed the 1st rotation. I still can’t find the link for the men’s subdivision the US was in. I hate NBC so much. Why couldn’t they have just let it stay on the USAG YouTube page instead. I guess next year, I’ll have to finally get a VPN so I can watch the BBC coverage.
