Has anybody figured out the Belarus situation? I mean, can Dickson qualify for Rio at the test event, or will it be up to the Belarus officials to decide who would go to the Olympics?

If Dickson qualifies for Rio at the test event, the spot will be nominative, meaning it belongs to her and Belarus can’t choose another gymnast. If she forfeits her spot, it will go to the first reserve.

Wasn’t the US going to send 2 competitors? Do you know why they decided against going??

Why do countries send gymnasts that already qualified? Experience?

Any news about India in the female event? Will India be taking North Korea’s second spot ???

They will not.

Any reason why not? Did India also just miss to register or am i missing something in the rules and the spot is not available to India in the first place ??

From what I heard, even though NK had two spots, because they are only one country backing out, only one country could take their place, which is why only Colombia is stepping in and not a second country.

Hmmm…seems very strange. Based on the official rules (https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0ahUKEwiZ7db7qcjLAhXGBI4KHYK6BUMQFgghMAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rio2016.com%2Fsites%2Fdefault%2Ffiles%2Fusers%2Frio2016_files%2Ffig-artisticgymnastics-en_0.pdf&usg=AFQjCNG34OPB578WbFr8kHKoUyl302P_dA&sig2=_OEC7B_f05w6SBZcl2ljWA&cad=rja), it seems pretty clear that a total of 40 individual athletes would be eligible for participation in Rio. If NK is replaced by only COL, it leaves only 39 individual participants. Not sure what I am missing.
Anyways, thanks a lot for replying…
