Keep in mind the US still has to end on pommel horse so nothing is over til it’s over but they’ve definitely put themselves in a good place. Great Britain is in 3rd followed by Russia, China, Korea, Sweden, and Brazil.

Purvis (GBR SR) Maltese to iron cross, azarian iron cross, invert, kip to joh, to yami to straddle planche. L sit, straddle up to great handstand, giant handstand (small bend. Some leg separation on his double double but good landing. Just a small hop back.
Naddour (USA VT) Stutter stepped toward the board. Landed feet first but knees definitely dropped a bit. 14.466
USA may not be throwing full difficulty, Whittenburg only warmed up the double front.

6:25 pm. Zhang (CHN FX) back 1.5 to front 2.5, back 2.5 to thrown out front tuck (his head was inches from the mat), back 1.5 to front 1.5, 1 2/4 tucked Thomas. He doesn’t have any momentum going into his tumbling passes, fhs front 2.5 to punch barani, back triple with Mustafina legs.
6:23 pm. Belyavskiy (RUS PH) almost off on the handstand, good save, Magyar into the Sivado, good into the dismount.
6:20 pm. Deng (CHN FX) back 3.5 to punch barani, front full to 2.5 , back 2.5 to front 1.5, Very fast Russians. 1 ¾ Thomas (piked at the end) Full-in. Hope, Nice wide-arm press. Almost stuck the triple full to finish but chest was very low.

Whitlock (GBR PH) scissor to handstand, single Russian on one pommel. Lots of single pommel work, traveling flairs (seemed a little off) Magyar into the Sivado, I literally don’t know how he stayed on during that dismount. His shoulders were way over most of the time.

Louis Smith is going first on Pommels. Weird…. Long wait too. Scissor to handstand, Busnari, I’ve said it before but he has the slowest circles, single Russian on one pommel, struggles with his flair a bit but HUGE dismount.

That was insane. What a final rotation! Felt a bit sorry for USA having to finish on pommel. Not ideal for them.
